Hi Guys,
I recently joined the PCGB, received my card last week and PorscheFile yesterday :) Looking forward to applying my stickers :)

My name is Mark and I am 30 and am from Belmont, a small (random) "village" in between Sutton and Banstead.

I own 2 Porsches, amoung some other brand cars, a 1991 964 Carrera 2 and a 2005 997 Carrera S.

The 997 was my first step into the world of Porsche ownership nearly 2 years ago and the 964 was a project purchase around 5 months ago. I have my eye on a local 968 which I am hoping the owner will let go and let me purchase to add a 3rd. I have the Porsche bug it seems.

I hope to come along to a local meet at some point and meet some fellow enthusiasts. There is always a number of Porsches in the area so I am sure many of you are local to Sutton/Banstead. Sometimes Banstead highstreet looks like a Porsche only zone!

I am very much into keeping my cars clean, having won many awards in a show car Golf VR6 of mine, I enjoy bringing cars back to life and the 964 is currently in line to be taken into a local bodyshop for a full restoration. I am having some finishing touches done to my 997 and I hope to enter this into a concours competition although I intend on getting back into track days which I used to do in my BMW M3 so this may hinder the concours side of things.

Some pics to make this more interesting.

When I purchased the 964

I could go on and on and on...

Just thought I'd say hi and see where you are all from.

Cheers,
Mark

Mark, if you're hunting down a 968, then also post on the 968 forum here and on Porsche968uk, perhaps the car is known to 968 owners! You'll also get loads of help on the restoration front as there's a world of 968 knowledge between the 2 forums.

That 964 looks lovely - Guards Red is the best colour (my first 3 were that colour). Couldn't find a good one when I wanted the cab, but Tahoe Blue gets a lot of admiration!

Hi Mark,

Cant help you with 968 but I own a 996 cab and live in Banstead.

A load of us used to meet at the Blue Bull in Walton on the Hill organised by Porsche UK or Porsche World. I think the pub has now closed so I'm not sure if people still meet close by?

Hopefully someone on this link can confirm the new place of meet.

Matt

Thanks, I have been looking on the forums, I want to secure the car before I look too much into them.

I do like the guards red, suits the 964 perfectly. Not really a red car guy apart from Ferrari's but I would say it is my favourite colour on the 964, although I do crave for a black one.

Do you guys meet at the Star pub?

Seems very quiet on this forum.. Where is everyone? :)

Mark, you're not limited to Surrey region meets - Kent's monthly meet (normally at Brands Hatch) is popular with members from many regions, especially in summer when you can arrive early and watch whatever's going on on the Indie circuit until it ends at 7.45-8pm!

Some parts of the forum are pretty quiet - R25 being one! Others, like 944, are pretty busy.

Cheers Chris, will pop down to the next meet while the roads are dry. I'll have to look when the brands meet is, I was only there on Sunday, a short drive away too

Hi just joined the club I live in oxted Surrey. Recently treated myself to a 996c4s and I love it. Local meets would love to know more

regards simon (pieman7)

From Oxted it's a short trip around the M25 to get to our monthly meeting place (which is close to Junction 9 of the M25), so why not come to our next meeting?. Dan.

Hi dan apologies for the late reply would love to see what the region offers if you could let me know you next meet would like to come along if I may

regards simon
