Morning all,

What can I say, it has taken me a while to get here but here I am none the less. Last week I took delivery of my first Porsche, a 1991 928 GT bought from the infamous Paul Anderson (I am lucky in the fact that I live in Stroud so he is on my doorstep). I have been wanting one of these for a long time now, but I needed to get other things out of my system first, but always knew that I would end up with one in the end.

So, without further a do the most important part first, the pictures:

She is mechanically as sound as a rock, with Paul having waved his wand over the car. Aircon works exactly how it should, she has also benefited from a braking system overhaul with the addition of EBC yellow stuff all round. The suspension has been replaced with adjustable shocks and new springs. Engine has been given a full service, the belts have been changed in the last 5000 miles along with the water pump so piece of mind there.

At the moment she is what I would call a great 10ft car, but when you get up close you can see the dreaded Aluminium rash that has taken hold in a few places. The plan is to get her re-sprayed in the coming months once I am confident that all mechanicals are 100% and I have gotten used to driving her.

Modification wise, well, x-pipes and rear box delete, K&N filter and that is about it. Sounds glorious (but you already knew that didn't you!). Outside of that and the adjustable dampers that is it for her.

She will be no garage queen however, and the first proper outing will be the classic car action day at Combe where I will turn a few laps in her to get feel for what she is like on track.

Anyhow, this is me, moving away from my beloved Saab's, and dipping a toe in the world of GT cars with my childhood dream. So far it has not disappointed.

And it's manual-a lot of nice Porsche hope you've got yopur own petrol supply.Welcome to Porsche ownership.

Hi, your GT looks great and if Paul has worked his magic I am sure it also goes well. I have a 1986 S2 and am based near Witney. Hopefully see both you and the car at a event soon.

They are a beautiful shape. Saw three 928s in convoy on Tuesday morning (all with Belgian plates) on the A93 on Deeside - they looked like they were enjoying the twisty bits[:)]

Thanks for the hello guys.

Its all a little quiet in here, is there an alternate forum where the 928 collective reside or are we just the silent few [:)] ?

Hoping to get to some of the R31 regional meets, and of course get on Combe as much as possible in the coming months, it would be great to meet up with some fellow owners to pick their brains.

David.
