iPod connection in 997

Is anyone aware of any specialist in the central belt of Scotland who can connect an iPod in to the sound system?

Your only option at this stage is either an FM transmitter (technically illegal in the UK unless you obtain a radio broadcasting licence) or an FM Modulator. Any even basic car HI-FI shop could fit the latter as it is just a matter of unplugging the aerial lead, plugging in the modulator and then plugging the aerial back in. No news yet of a way to hack in to the MOST-BUS fibre optic system yet.. you best bet for the latest news is one of the american sites such as rennlist.

Hi Colin,
Not in Scotland but have a look at this site for linking ipod to the MOST bus system:
http://www.densionusa.com/icelink_fibre_info.htm

I'm sure there will be a link somewhere for a UK dealer.

I have just installed a Dension ice pack into my 996 which works through the CD function on the head unit the sound quality is very good, i got the whole kit which included a cradle so all you do once it is all installed which is not the easy bit, is slot it in and away you go it cost £130 which is a lot but works far better than an i-trip as i tried this and it only worked when me or the passenger held it and work as aerial not the best way. It seams that there is no systems from what others say on the 997 but try these guys they will tell you, what when how?

Tel 01636 642 855.

Good luck

Phil
