Just wondered if there was any way of just adding an ipod connection to the PSM2 system? Didnt really want to replace the system as its fine for the weekend etc but have just invested in the 'apple' way of life.......

Impossible to connect an iPod to Porsche Stability Management. [;)]

The only real way to connect to PCM2 is with an interface unit which replaces the CD Changer. These are made by several companies, but the Dension Gateway is the most popular. Ashley has one for sale in the For Sale forum, and it also has the Bluetooth adapter for 'phone.

Many Thanks Richard! Sorry, you knew what I meant though [;)] ! I know but I wanted to keep mine as original as possible. Bluetooth would be good but wouldn't I lose the porsche sat nav if I changed it to the Denison Gateway? Dove house where I bought the car from mentioned all the clocks and info was updated via this inbuilt system. How would this fair??

No, the satnav will work fine. The only thing you lose is the CD Changer (if fitted). The Dension (and others) use the CDC controls to navigate and control the iPod. The system is a bit quirky to operate, but once you get used to it, it isn't too bad. I have a similar system in my Cayman, made by NAV-TV, but they all work in a similar way.

Thanks for the plug Richard,

Chris I have just what you need, its brand new box has never been opened. I never got round to fitting it and my car will be moving on soon.

I paid £364.80 for the gateway 500 unit and bluetooth phone interface from Dynamic sounds on ebay. I'm open to offers say £250?

Ashley

Thanks for the plug Richard,

Did I mention commission? [:D]

There are some funny goings-on with the forum email system at the moment. Hopefully they will get to the bottom of the problem soon. Meantime, try PM-ing your email address to Chris.
