Well its arrived at last, it was delayed because they have been updating the software on the unit and held my order back to be fitted.

I looked for ages for a Ipod controller that would work with a Becker 4720 unit i have in the car and found a Solisto unit in germany that does it for all becker / porsche OE / audi units!

Ive tried it in the car and it kind of works great! it has Ipod connection lead but doesnt work with my 6th Gen Ipod classic for some reason but works great with my old Ipod nano, the becker display scolls long with track and artist information and runs 10 playlists of upto 100 songs per play list, with the final play list allowing you to control from the ipod rather than the head unit if you wanted to.

Sound quality is great and build is very good, just need to work out why it doenst work with my new Ipod - have emailed solisto and await reply.

will post photos of fitting etc and operation when i do it tommorow / sat am (in daylight) since im going to fit my GPS antenna correctly at last and hardwire in the Road angel at the same time while i have the dash apart

would i reccomend one, think so yes, but will confrim once ive had it working properly for a week or so

This sounds different to the standard Becker iPod connection unit I have. The Becker one doesn't have any limitations on playlist sizes etc, it just makes your head unit act as a controller/display for the iPod.

The Becker unit only works with iPods up to fifth generation "¦ sounds like you have the same issue with yours!

Jon.

I have the Dension unit and the 6th generation Classic doesn't work with that either. (5th gen is fine)
