Ipod on CDR 24

Hi Everyone,

Well this is my first ever Porsche...my RS60 boxster and it's a fab car...but yes the ipod or lack there of is a pain in the rear. Has anyone tried this device?? The guy says it will work and if it doesn't he will give me a refund which isn't too bad I guess. Anyway it plugs into the back of the CDR-24 and you would select the ipod as a multi-cd device and away you go?? It's made by Becker the same folk that make the unit. I have a single din unit from a while agai but think it will look rubbish if I put it in.... Anyway hello and see what you think

That is interesting, let me know what you two decide and how it performs. From what I remember, I'm fairly sure that Becker make the CDR23, and therefore probably the CDR24 as well...

The lack of an i-pod connection in my RS60 Boxster is a pain too. Do you know whether fitting the device you mentioned would affect any future warranty claims? Presumably it fits any Porsche even though the link says it's for Cayennes

The Dension has a switch on it which when thrown, puts it in bypass mode and makes it invisible to the Porsche Technician's computers. You can throw this switch before a service and then switch it back again after.

Thanks for the replys on the unit. I didn't have time to do anything about it when I was at home (work offshore) but I think I might go for it when I get back. As for warrenties then I can't really see it causing a problem? The unit apparently plugs into the CD port for the multi changer item. Becker do make the CDR 24 as I found this detail out in another web site so if i do go for it then I'll let you all know if it works.

Cheers for now.

Andy

Hi Andy,

I see you've got an RS60. You might be interested on my recent posts in the Boxster Forum about a register of RS60s.

Hope you're enjoying the car.
