Member question. I am in the process of fitting a replacement water pump and I am advised by the parts seller that I need a guide kit (£70) to assist in the installation. My local garage thinks that it may be not necessary to purchase one. Can you advise or direct me to someone who can enlighten me further. Best regards David Hadley

The 924 2.0 water pump is a simple fit and to my knowledge I have never heard of a guide let alone used one, but watch out for one of the holes being the wrong size.
On the 924 S perhaps the parts supplier is referring to the tensioner kit which it always advisable to change just because some of the parts have to be rommoved to facilitate the removal of the pump.
I will look on PET later and look for this so called guide.
