Bl***DY wind. Power blip lost my image, Will re-scan it tomorrow
This is me and my stepson in my 944S, circa 1995, about half a lap from a HUGE brown trouser moment due to almost terminal brake fade. The driver of a 911 SC which was following said he thought we were goners. He added that he thought it was neat to turn in and find a 944 sideways across the track, apparently still travelling in the appropriate direction.

Even with pretty stiff suspension and roll bars it is still more pronounced on my car than I'd prefer, although stiffening up the dampers does help when on track.
The car in picture looks like it definately needs some Turbo anti roll bars. They make a huge difference and cost peanuts.
As for brown trousers moments, my biggest one was at Silverstone on the first or second outing.
I got it very wrong just after Becketts, I think I missed the apex and ended up having to turn too sharply (this was on P6000's!). The back instantly swung wide and I remember getting loads of lock on, almost up to the stops. I just about caught the first slide, but naturally the back then started to come back far faster than I could ever turn the wheel in the other direction.
So I learnt very quickly to let go of the wheel and let it centre itself. It felt like I nearly broke my finger when I grabbed the wheel once it was straight again. I was almost through Chapel by the end of all this but remarkably the car (and definately not me!) managed to keep it on the track.
I've had faster (almost intentional) spins at Bedford but this one was rather too close for comfort, and is the only one where I've needed to come in for a coffee and a sit down afterwards.
Best regards,
Peter.
