Is it the door seal? - porsche 993?

Hi there

I'm a newbie Porsche 993 owner - (been dreaming of one for years and am lucky enough to now own one!) and wondered if anyone can offer me some advice?
When I get above 30-40 mph it sounds like the drivers side window is slightly open - with air coming in through the back of the drivers side door at the top near the roof or maybe the rear window - The drivers window is firmly shut and any amount of prodding and pushing the window seal / door seal from the inside doesn't stop it. I have looked externally but can't see any obvious signs of wear and tear

Is this a common problem? and can anyone advise anything else I should check?

Many thanks

David

Over the years mine developed a little wind noise (that I had not really noticed) but also some water leaks when it rained that caused the carpet in the rear offside footwell to get wet. I replaced the door seal (the rubber "ring" that fastens to the car that the door closes against).

This fixed the water leak but to my surprise completely removed various wind noises! I job well worth doing.

Very easy to do yourself. (Although seals are over £100 each!). The original is held on with a glue that I found tough to source but someone on here said glue unnecessary and indeed they have stayed firmly in place for 3 or 4 years since I changed them without glue.

Seals are well over £100 each!!! £333 + VAT for the correct versions, people have used the older 911 ones with good results although they arent as thick as the 993 ones.

David, I got my seals from my local Porsche centre.

Wow they seem to have shot up in price! I remember the right hand door seal being more expensive than the left (apparently because they sell more left hand seals so production costs are lower per seal!)
