is it worth restoring ?

hi guys - my 2002 targa is getting pretty old after 10 years of ownership - drives sweet as a nut but has many small cosmetic and accessory defects - scratches, bumps, small rust spots, heater doesnt work well, satnav sometimes works, small rips in upholstery, rear wiper doesnt work, ashttray busted etc etc - none of which on their own change my driving enjoyment or vehicle utilisation but altogether do detract from the pleasure of use and no doubt reduce its value

the cost of getting all these fixed is thousands (or lots of time which i dont have) but with values where they are i cant see it being economic to fix them

so should i just let the car deteriorate and live with it or overspend and fix everything ?

anyone else in a similar position ?

i would consider buying a later model targa but none of them take roof bars - essential for carrying bikes and surfboards !

Depends which quote you had from where...? I had a car nearly written off by a quote from an OPC, whereas a traditional bodyshop/ restoration specialist had a totally different view and price. Pm me for more info if you like! Bert

so finally bit the bullet and took my car to an indepenedent after having had poor service from local porsche centre - left it with them for a week and got them to fix every small issue and give the car a restorative valet as well - looks and drives like new - excellent service and good value from 911Sport in horncastle lincs - reccomended
