Is Speed Yellow a bad idea?

I can't explain it but I really want a C4S in Speed Yellow and I've found a reasonably priced one with a few goodies advertised by Camtune. Is Speed Yellow bad for resale? Will I be stuck with a car I can't sell? Are there any other bad things about Speed Yellow 911's like attracting low life vandals or being picked on by Plod?
Also, has anyone got any good or bad things to say about Camtune?

Hmmm, got my eye on that exact same car too...just trying to convince t'other half to move from a Cab to a Coupe!

I first saw a Speed Yellow C2 Coupe in a showroom 2 years ago and it was absolutely stunning!

Wanted one ever since. Clearly not as discreet as black or silver, but hey, with a sports exhaust they'll both hear you and see you coming!

I think that some of the bright colours are making a bit of a comeback. I see a Guards Red 996 locally, and it looks brilliant with the aerokit. Sometimes I wish that I hadn't made the conservative choice.

If you like Speed Yellow go for it. There are others out there who will feel the same way as you when you come to sell it, and they are a lot rarer than the silvers, blacks and blues.

Speed Yellow? - It's brilliant, man - these days every 10th car is a Porsche, so you need to make your statement. Go for it - you know it makes sense! :p

They say we're only on this planet for 3 score years and 10. So, if you can afford it and if you like it, go for it, its a free country. Unless you're buying new, any reduction in resale value will be equaually apply to purchase and resale value, so net effect should be close to zero.

Personally, I would only buy a Lambo in yellow, a Ferrari in Red and a Mercedes in Silver. But then I'm a boring software engineer, not a film director / artist :)

i bought a 996c4 from richard at camtune 2 yrs ago-he was a decent straight guy and the service dept is very good too.on reflection the price was possibly a little strong but not ridiculous-may be worth an offer tho...as regards speed yellow -there is also one at opc hatfield currently at high 40`s-a9964s-looks stunning.not as difficult to sell on as you might think-not like some really lairy bright blues for example-porsche seems to look good /classic in yellow or guards
good luck

I think they look ok in yellow:

Go for it...
My C4S is Speed Yellow...and has the Aerokit and Sports Exhaust so it's loud in many ways.
I've never been stopped by the police, nor has it been vandalised...but you do draw lots of looks - I'm sure admiring and otherwise...including many Cameraphone pics whilst in traffic!

If you love the look of it & its what you want then buy it. I would have had a GT3 in Speed yellow if i couldnt have had a Black one

After all when & if you come to sell it you only need 1 person that feels the same as you do now [;)]

My C4 is in Speed Yellow. She looks awesome and also has the sport exhaust. As someone else posted all the responses seem to be positive towards the car. You are buying a sports car, an awesome piece of machinery, so why get it in a subdued colour? Was in the OPC a few weeks back, everything on the front was silver or grey. Which car got the most attention?

I went to look at that car before I bought mine (non speed yellow) elsewhere. If anyone wants details of why I didn't buy it PM me. It's NOT Camtune trying it on.........

Cheers
