Sorry - I just can't agree with this. I know this has been discussed at length elsewhere on the forum - but the 993RS is very much a direct descendant.

If you take the origins of the 2.7RS and go back to the 'S', then 'R' etc, the lineage continues.

Why? The 2.7RS can be a banshee or a tourer with ease - the 993RS the same.

I sense a whole barrage of flames coming - bring it on [:D]

Can't deny that a 964 RS is something I've lusted over for sometime now . . . but the original RS, at the time particulary, must have been very special indeed . . . . I'll take one of each.

Now get back in your box Des[:D]

Original 2.7RS the Icon when Porsche returned to basics then pandered to the US and not until model year 1992 did they return to basics....so what will 2012 bring us?

Back in my Box................remember.........The Piano Bar?

I know nothing about Piano's !

oh, the answer the question was "no", 993 RS all the way....

ps. rumour has it, that's why no car mag will test it against the 996 GT3 RS or 964 RS as they know it will spank the hell out of them and cause depression amongst half the Porsche 911 world !

Actually there was a group test OF ALL THE SPECIAL post 73 cars including 2.7RS 964RS 993RS GT3 993 GT2 etc etc..........it was GT purely porosche about three years ago anf guess what...

1st 2.7RS
2nd 964RS
3rd GT3

Sundeep remember DS RSR vanishing away from you at the Ring...........

But Ajit -the 964RS is over a decade old!! And still holding it's own.......[;)]

That Evo test. Never could understand it. The 550 the best drivers car? Its a tank.
At one of this year's Goodwood outings, there was some pretty exotic machinery on view, including RSR's and a full race French 993RS. This latter beast tramped past me as if I was parked, and I was not hanging about. But what was the fastest car on the track that day?..........a little blue 964RS. The silent assassin.

'Rumour has it' in your house maybe [8D]

Rumour has it (in my house) that Des might be on the money. They are great little machines. If I had a 964RS I would do it in 2.7 RS livery, saw one once done like that and it was ace.

Blimey Desmond....how long have you been talking about that?

Get you're arse in gear and do it.

Best looking 64 RS I saw was the black car with orange wheels, cage and script...........simply perfection.[8|]

Always wondered why the 964RS missed out on the White with Red Wheels & Side Script colour scheme.
A couple of years ago Reading had a 73RS, 3.2CS & GT3RS all in white/red side by side on display. Looked pretty damn good.

Coulored wheels at the time for the 964RSwas a very expensive option but getting there.........the true soul child is here.........

.............964RS....... White with Red Wheels & Side Script............

A popular option in France, judging from the 'F' registered 964RS's I saw at the Le Mans Classic last year....
