Is there a 6k service?

Looking to get my new 993 serviced in next coupke of months. Just needs an annual as she had a full(48k) last time - prior owner. I thought there was only a 12k, 24k or 48k and was looking round for advise and prices before commiting. JZM are highly recommended and looking attheir site they offer a 6k service for £270. Seeing other asking £400 ish for a 12k as JZ do but also have good guys like Northway quoting £205 for a 12k.
Am I missing something here? Assumed a service was to a set Porsche schedule so little scope for variation other than fluid choice and origination of some parts?

No such thing as a 6K service officially.

Ask them what they exclude from the 12k service. It might make sense as it could be a half way house between an annual oil change and a 12k service for those cars that have done limited mileage.

There's certainly no official 6k service interval requirement. If you're doing less that 12k a year there's still the 'annual' service - I recall the service book puts you onto a lower mileage schedule that takes into account time as well as mileage.

For history purposes, it is always worth it in the long run to have an annual service done and stamped up in the book plus of course the invoice and for the ripe old sum of £205 it will pay for it on the residuals and if you just have an oil change, air and oil filter I'm sure that would reduce the cost even further.
The reason for the different prices is mark up on parts and of course the labour rate which is £45/hour at Northways.
