I'm away on business this week and my girlfriend has just called to say that her new boss has just bought a 55 plate 997 from Sutton Coldfield Porsche and she had to go with him to giver him her opinion with me having a 996?

I would imagine that he will be planning to come round and show me hopefully [:)]

He was taking about a Cayman S until i told him there is only one Porsche to go for (A 911). Maybe my own fault !!!!!!

Oh how i would love a 3.8 C2S !!!!!!!!!!!!!

So does anyone else suffer with this condition of Porsche Envy !!!!!???

Steve

Hi Steve I know how you feel what with all the dreamers trying to race you, cut you up and never letting you into a gap - I guess it comes with the territory. By comparison having owned and driven on a daily basis a series of fast beemers (M3 & M5) I've never experienced as much disrespect (envy) on the road as what I do in the P car

I could not care less about people who appear to be envious about my 911! I work hard (bloody hard) and choose to spend my money on a Porsche. I too have owned a M3 to be honest it was very quick but had no "soul" . The trouble is some people own a Porsche because they can, not because they want to.

Dont get jealous of your girlfriend's boss showing off that he's got a bigger one than you (a 3.8 engine that is...[;)] )

As the old saying goes "It not how big it is....................."
Told by a man with a very small one[:D]

Why would I envy someone who has to worry about depreciation and the shape of his headlights? [:D]

Besides, I'm young and good looking..... [;)]

only envious of the 997TT-as for the others including the 996 i had-contrary to your sugestion-the cayman s ive had from new for 2 yrs is superior in all respects!![:D]

i now await the barrage.....!!

Totally agree with the lack of "Christian" driving towards me / my P car. It is even worse than I had with my Range Rovers. At least they were big enough to bully your way through a gap if needed. [;)]

I will always want more for myself, but not because of what other people have. Well done for them if they have a bigger p...s. There will always be someone with a bigger boat. No point in letting that get to me.

I wouldn't get too wrapped up in it. Each generation of 911 has its own characteristic quirks. I have a tremendous respect for the newer 911's, especially the 997TT. But given the choice, the 993 will always be the one for me"¦ just does it for me. I agree with Daveydoo, it's all about appreciation & not just ownership for ownerships sake or keeping up with the Jones'"¦
