Is this a good price?.....tyres again

Shop around other suppliers. If no-one (or maybe one or two) can better or equal, then it's cheap. Otherwise...

I bought two Pirelli P Zero Rosso 255/40 ZR17 N3 for c£250 fitted, balanced, etc the other day. But then tyre prices vary by make, rim size, etc.

Black circles quote £178 each fitted and they are always expensive - you're marginally better than them, but should do better than your current quote.

If you are anywhere near either of these give them a call - Micheldever Tyres or Bracknell Tyres.

Tried Bracknell....they quoted £165.70 + Vat...which is similar to what I have benn quoted...with home fitment

I've just had a pair of Michelin pilot sport 255/40ZR17 N2's fitted for £310, and they were about the most expensive on BlackCircles (about £380 there IIRC)

STD70040, how do you find the Rossos? I used to liek P-zero Nero's but they don't do an N-spec and they go oval on you. I had Rosso's on my old 3.2 and they were dangerous in the wet, I accelerated going onto a motorway from a curved onramp in the wet once (not mad acceleration it was the M6 in rushhour) and they grip and I span twice through a gap between 2 lorries and into a space in the middle lane and ended up pointing the right way. It scared the pants off me at the time but I bet it looked good on the Police cameras...

Depends where you live - Micheldever (Hants M3) are the cheapest round these parts. I usually pay about £320 a pair for rears fitted. Mind you that's 255/40 ZR17 N2s, so slightly cheaper than your 18s I expect
