Haven't been using car much over the last 3 months - took car for MOT yesterday and noticed that the battery warning light was flickering on the way back. Got home and now it won't start. belts ok not loose or broken. suspect it could be battery - has anyone had a similar problem. When attempting to start lights etc coming on but not turning over.

Have had a look at previous posts and it looks as if the battery is the culprit - have had it on charge all night so will give it a go today and if still no good will get a new battery.

Agree with William - more likely an alternator issue because, for the warning light to come on due to the battery you would need the battery to be so shot that it would never have started the car to get to the MOT.

Hopefully just a faulty connection as it was flickering (as long as you are really sure it's not the belts)

Thanks William and Mark - the battery is looking increasingly suspect as it was on charge for 24 hours and its still not maintaining voltage - although I will get the alternator checked out as a matter of course.
Nice bike by the way (Santa Cruz) I've got a couple of Specialized including the new Enduro

After much scratching of heads etc. (and taking it to a electrical specialist) it turns out the starter motors gone up the duff. Now changed and everything back to normal.
