Is this real?

The first is Summer yellow. I actually like it in the metal. The second is a colour change, possibly to Speed yellow, but is not original (Speed yellow was a much later colour).

Interesting description of what will fix the overheating problem after driving it for seven miles:-

car stood for 4 years recommend timing belt and thermosta as as i found out it overheats if you drive more than 7 miles sorry no p/x

Hmmmmm. Don't THINK it's an S either.

It would seem any question can be answered with "stood for 4 years recommend timing belt and thermosta as as i found out it overheats if you drive more than 7 miles sorry no p/x", even the enigmatic "bb"...[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]One to avoid, I think.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Picture (more specifically background) looks familiar.

I'm sure that same car was advertised a couple of months back as "bought for mum but she didn't use it - sat there for 4yrs and now we've lost the key".

So he's resprayed it yellow and stuck some 17"s on, and presumably done something about the key?

Well that makes sense, I mean if you had a car sitting for 4 years then overheats when you finally start it you'd paint it a different colour and fit big wheels rather than stop it overheating, wouldn't you.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Alternatively if you painted a car and fitted fancy wheels to try sell it you'd probably spring the extra 12 1/2p to replace the thermostat if you really believed that was all that made it run hot...[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

I remember that one - thought the background was slightly different in a front garden if I remember rightly - plus that's a lot of trouble to go to get £1200 back assuming someone is foolish enough to click buy-it-now!

I looked at an S2 recently that was on ebay and close to me - described as low miles (85k) and 'babied' in the last 4 years. The chap selling it knew nothing about the car, hadn't spotted the cracked front fog light (with tape over it) or the cracked rear light cluster - when I showed him the compressor he didn't even know what it was. As for the rest of the car this was the first I'd seen with bubbling around the n/s suspension turret under the bonnet.

I think I'd have to be feeling really brave to buy one blind on ebay as it seems the descriptions are often incomplete or written by someone wearing a heavily rose tinted pair of glasses. That said, I have bid on a couple of Turbos recently - oops!

I went to see a 928 S2 that was on Ebay and looked really good. Close up the paint job that had been done on it was not that good, and the history had a 4 year gap in recent times cos the last owner had been getting it maintained through his business (hence no receipts). Also cruise and aircon didn't work (the second was in the description), plus one or two other minor flaws. No tax. Went for about £4k.

The summer yellow one is on Autotrader for £3295. With that mileage and colour I'll be surprised if he gets anywhere close to that. It's in Edinburgh so I might go and see it.

The first one is a top yella car. But...blow parking that colour outside, whats the price now?
