At the risk of annoyance! ..... I have a drive in the Dubai 24hr race and am packing ready to go.

It starts at 10am UK time on Friday 11th Jan, www.RadioLemans.com will have live coverage and MOTORS TV will cover about half the race live. MOTORS TV will also show the day and night quali sessions on Thurs 10th live.

See this news release from the organiser, which also includes a link to the entry list.

I am in car No 61 driving a BMW Z4M with a 3.2 six cyl engine, developing about 350 bhp. The car is close to std as it runs in the VLN SeriesWagen class at other times. In this race of many exotic cars we are in class A5 and I guess we will qualify around 50 to 60th in the 85 car field. A lot can happen, firstly we want to finish, a class podium would be great and an overall finish around 30th would be amazing.

I have my lucky race socks! .... given me by 2 guys on here about 4 years ago when I started racing, nothing can go wrong now.

Have a good one Paul. Looks like you'll be mixing it with some of the best there; Sean Edwards, Joe Osbourne and Sabine to name but three! [:)]

Go n'eiri on bothair leat, may the road rise to meet you, may the wind always be at your back and may all your cows be wet and productive.

Oh, and wishing you the luck of the Munster amd Leinster Irish !!

thx, guys

The anticipation is starting to ramp up very nicely. Car and all the pit equipment unloaded, final prep and vinyl being applied -- just done my helmet radio check. Also had all my clothing and helmet scrutineered

Had a 5 minute chat with the legend that is Sabine Schmidt at the back of our garage, she is driving a Porsche 997 Cup car (no surprise there)

This is becoming petrolhead heaven until the race finishes on Saturday !

I am starting the race in our car at 10am your time on Friday - live on MOTORS TV. The 2 quali sessions on Thursday are also being shown live.

Well done indeed. I don't know if you know it Paul but you got a shoutout on MotorsTV. It was yesterday afternoon when the car was sat in the box at the start of the pitlane, the commentator even said that's the Paul Follett team.

Really enjoyed following the coverage on MotorsTV, looked like a great event that is going from strength to strength.

Well done Paul

Class podium, and only a minute or so behind second, good drive and I bet you're pretty happy if a little tired !
