it like a new car

haven't been happy with the handling of my 964 since buying it in Sept, i have been avoiding using it as i really wasn't enjoying the experience at all..it felt like driving in a strong cross wind on a slippy road. i finally decided it was silly owning a car i didn't enjoy driving so Phoned Chris at Centre Gravity(they do setting up cars for trackdays/races among other things) and had a chat. he asked me to bring the car around so he could take a look.
thank goodness i did cos for very little outlay i now have a car the is easier to steer, takes corners like its on rails and grips the road much MUCH better.. top job. should save me a fortune on tyre wear.[8D]

so pleased with it i took it out for a long run this morning then i have spent the day cleaning it, treating and re-colouring the seats

I take it that brown is a bit of a b,ugger to get out of seats if it was handling that badly beforehand [;)]

LOL[:D]

not it really wasn't THAT bad its just i am very fussy/sensative about this sort of thing. I've been lucky anough to own some very good(well set up) Porsches and so it upsets me greatly when i drive a car that should be one of the best drivers car on the road and find its not balanced right.

yes and yes.

Enquired about this today, the bloke seems well clued up and more than willing to help.

How much did it cost in total for you car? di you get the ride height and corner weighting done too?

Thanks

Rob

Rob I think you're going to find it's not that cheap mate....[&o]

But probably worth it if your handling is pretty bad.

When I spoke to him yesterday he gave me a worse case of £220. He sent his booking form through and by the list of prices by the hour it could be a lot more.
Just wondered what Helen paid to have her car set up.
The handling is not that bad at all, but before I splash out on a new suspension setup I wanted to see how good the current stuff could get.
Still get a little oversteer (that can be cured by a little lift off) on track when pushing it, but nothing as bad as I did at Elvington.
Chris gave me virtually no toe at the front and a bit more neg camber, but the front tyres are still suffering from a bit more wear on the outside 1/3. Hopefully having it setup by CG (should it not cost sh*tloads) can help with this.
Like I said, the bloke at CG spoke a real good job and hopefully he won't price himself out of my wallet.
