It lives again!

Hi all.

As you may know, my car was crashed into three weeks or so ago, and I wasn't sure whether it would be economically viable to fix it. Well, after a bit of work, Direct Line agreed that it was fixable, and I've finally got the car back from the garage! Oh so shiney, they've done a good job! (Although the key no longer operates the passenger door lock - odd that one).

Anyway, here's the car after the crash:

I know it doesn't look that much damage, but I had to pull the wing off the tyre so I could steer it the 100m home! There was more damage along the passenger side, but that front wing panel is expensive and that was the major issue that brought the car near to write off. (Damage to the front and back wheels and tyres too).

Here's the car in the garage:

They had to cut the wing off, but at least the car looks good and solid under the body panels! Anyone know what the black cylinder to the right of the wheel is?

More at the garage, fixing the scrapes and bashes at the back:

And the finished result!

The only problem is that the new paint means I may have to polish and wax the rest of the car more often!

God, it's good to have it back though. The hire car just didn't compare, and I'm now using the Porsche to move house. It's performing like a trooper, very glad I didn't scrap it [;)] [:D]

That looks fantastic[8D] But why did they have to cut the wing off???

The black cylinder under the wing is the carbon canister. Its for the fuel tank venting system.

Thanks Stu.

I think they had to cut the wing off as they couldn't get all the mounting bolts undone! Though presumably they managed to in the end to bolt the new wing in place...
