The strange requests that get sent to Club Office - anyone interested in this one? [&:]

Dear Angie,

Following our telephone conversation earlier this morning, I am writing to you regarding our request to Porsche owners/club members for the purposes of the C4 series, "It's Me Or The Dog".

"It's Me Or The Dog", now in third series is one of Channel 4's most popular programmes. The series follows expert dog trainer/handler Victoria Stilwell as she sets about re-training Britain 's naughtiest dogs. I currently work on a brand new 60' special of the programme which aims to explore the variety of breeds & their differences in Britain today. The programme will consist of a series of stunts that will test the validity of people's long-held beliefs about dogs and the dog world.

One such stunt involves the cost of dogs vs. the cost of cars and for this reason we are interested in speaking to Porsche owners.
Recently, Churchill Insurance undertook a survey which discovered that the most expensive dog, in terms of maintenance per-year was a Great Dane at a cost of £31,840, was more than the running costs of a sport's car! Therefore, we would like to organise a stunt whereby a devoted Porsche owner would swap his car for a day with a Great Dane owner. The test would confirm whether Porsche owners believe it is worth spending £31K on a dog and whether they would consider raising a dog after the experience. The filming would take place for one day and would involve the dog owner test driving a Porsche whilst the car owner takes a dog out for a walk. We would be really interested to hear from Porsche owners interested in taking part in this interesting and innovative study.

If interested please call- Marcus English on 01273 224 827.

Please do not hesitate in contacting me for any further information.

Kind Regards,

Marcus English.

Anyone wish to swap mint for mutt? [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

[:D] This request has been posted on Pistonheads as well, to a resounding 'NO' from all who wrote back (understandably!)...who would watch this programme?

Hey guys, we have a Great Dane and a Porsche! The closest they have got to one another is the occasional lick!

Pick of our Mutt 'Charlie' 12 months at present!

WHAT? How on earth can a dog cost that much? What's it's diet? Truffles? [:D]

Ours has had a couple of visits to the Vet but I reckon at the very most 2000 pounds pa including these visits, feed, human sacrifices etc. Their figure is ridiculous.[;)]

I was stunned at these figures too! I doubt our pointer greyhound X and Weimaraner, even with vet bills, food, pet passport etc together are a fraction of that.........

The pointer has ridden in the Cup Car BTW, when the car was road legal and I had a logistics problem collecting it -wasn't too impressed sitting in the racing bucket seat -not quite his usual double duvet in the back of a 4x4!!

BTW, the programme, if u are into dogs, not too bad. Even if only to see Victoria stepping from her E-type clad in boots and tight black clothing........[:-] [;)] Certainly some useful training tips!

Yes we watch the show religiously and the dogs[;)]....there is no way our dog would squeeze into our boxster, lucky eh?

We always watch the show whilst our German pointer and Weimararner sleep on the sofa. They never get to go in the Boxster but are allowed in the Golf and the BMW. However, our previous Weimaraner, now sadly lost, did manage a ride in our 930 turbo and previous Boxster S.

Melv's right about Victoria, though and the E-Type's worth a look too!
