2.30 ish today, my 944 cab arrived, but its been pi55ing down all bladdy day!!
took it out and drives very well, bodywork and interior very nice and straight, esp for a 21 year old car, but a few minor issues, namely:-

needs a new nearside indicator bulb.

the drivers side leccy seat back doesnt work but the height does.

the drivers side door lock/pull up thingy doesnt work with the central locking, only with popping it down before i close the door.

slight noise on full lock from power steering, could be low fluid, haven't had chance to look til the monsoon goes off!

other than that, all (seems) very good, but it needs a bloody good wash and polish.

the rear screen is very cloudy, but i'll get some of that stuff which was rec'd to me, and give that a try. the hood is in great nick and works A1.

first impressions of driving it, it doesn't half remind me of my golf mk1 gti to drive, and the hewn from solid catagory, feels really wierd driving so low to the ground 'an all..............

i'm giving it a really good clean and polish/wax and a good interior clean too on sunday (weather permitting!!!!!) and a good check over, then its off for its service etc....

Al it is going to be warm and sunny on the "Leisure Peninsular" at the weekend for some pictures [:D]

cheers guys [:D]

2 things, i want to change the indicator lenses to clear, and one of the fog/driving lamps has got a small chip in it, where can i get replacements?

had a good look over this morn, and there seems to be no rust at all (the inspection did say that it didnt) and the interior is in lovely nick, just needs a damn good clean!
Lee, i'll be spending a good few hours on sun morn polishing and waxing, so as soon as its done, it'll be off to one of our scenic locations for a photo or 2. i need to do some anyway for the insurance co to prove is standard.

Hi Alistair,

Congratulations on your fine acquisition and wise buying decision. I have a few pairs of clear front indicators, new and boxed with amber bulbs at £30 delivered(which is cheaper than the lowest price on fleaBay).

At some point, you may also like to consider the clear rear lenses which work a treat on black. I custom make these to order, P.M me for further info if of interest.

Congrats on the new arrival, hope you get the decent weather this weekend to have a good look over it/clean it properly.

Sounds like it could be a low fluid issue on the PAS, but be sure to check the pipe running from the PAS reservoir down to the pump, and also the first main pressure line from the pump to the rack - both had an issue on mine. If they're gone, give me a shout for details, as the Porsche part is obscenely expensive and there's a much cheaper option to fix.

Wolfie, can you PM me a cost of those clear rears please ?

Cheers,

Mike

Al and Mike - you have P.M's

Many thanks for the mention McNulters

912UK - here's a pic of the rears on a silver turbo which should give you a good idea of how they look....
