It's not a Porsche but I think you'll like it - EFi V8 4.0 1958 MG Magnette

Amazing. Do have a soft spot for MGs; after running a B for 14 years, the arrival of children meant the B had to go, looked long and hard at a Magnet. In the end went for a Riley 1.5, ran it for a fair number of years until neglect (kids, new (old) house) meant it failed its MOT in a big way and it went to the great scrapheap in the sky.

I have a bit of a soft spot for those old Magnettes.

My parents had a ZA and then a ZB Varitone, before I was born, but I've seen the photos of them.

Very nice.

Glad to see another MG fanatic within the Porsche fraternity.

I too have 2 MG's.

A 1971 MG B GT which I restored myself (over 22 years) which is fairly standard apart from a few reliability mods.

I also have a 1977 MG Midget which still has the 1500 Triumph Spitfire engine in but I have extensively modified to kick out about 50% more power.

I also had a 2004 MG TF for 3 years, a model I poo-poo'd for years as its not a real MG. But once its frailties were sorted it was a really good little sports car to drive.

Thanks for the enthusiastic feedback, it's really appreciated. The pics of the MG's above are also great. Perhaps we can meet with our MG's on one of the club nights :)

It would have to be a dry sunny evening club night, Dave.

My MG's don't go out in the rain, at least the GT doesn't but the Midget is more fun drive if a little cramped for space.

Your engine transplant must have been a huge undertaking.

In comparison my 1500 mods were quite simple, space is the main problem.

That's really tidy, I'm sure all our Porsche friends will recognise how much effort it takes to get a finish like this. Yes, dry weather only; the old MG's don't like the wet ! :(

Regards Dave
