Just done the merry-go-round of phone calls to get the best quote could not believe this one from
Liverpool Victoria £ 389 fully comp, each year it keeps getting cheaper to insure my car (last 5 years)
If I keep this up soon thay will pay me to drive the car .I live in hope [:D] Pigs may fly one day.

Seems a bit steep to me Graham
I paid £292 F/C with Carole Nash on a limited 4K mileage as a second car. This included my wife as a second named driver(not that she ever would or want to!)
Perhaps we should all discuss premiums and negotiate the best deals available.
Regards.
Ian(ctjm)

My insurance came up for renewal with Carole Nash and they wanted another £300[:(]
I gave the big ring round and Liverpool Victoria came up top trumps with £469, unlimited milage, all modifications included and track day cover![:D]

We have been here before, but I can not find the thread! It went along the lines of :
How old are you?
How many miles per annum?
Type and age of car?
Excess?
Location?
Who to drive?
Premium?
I used to be with Carole Nash (@ £600 per year 6000 miles limit) until thanks to nicola turtill pointing me in the direction of classicline insurance, I now pay @£280 per year for my 1989 3.2 Carrera targa restricted to 5000 miles per year agreed value £15000.I am 43 years old live in Wolverhampton and my younger wife is included to drive, although this is unlikley as she finds it too much like hard work compared to her Celica.
I would have thought that as a club with such a large membership we would have been able to negotiate a preferential rate with an insurance company if we could prove we were a lower risk.
It would be interesting to know how many members made claims in the last year where they were at fault.
Regards Jon.

I had a quote from carole Nash thay wanted £1100 this is on a new policy not a classic one.

Just changed the voluntary excess to £200 on the policy with L V got it now down to £330

Hello Graham, I have also just done the usual phoning around and got mine down from £420 with Carol Nash to £218 with BLM in Leeds which included the wife and the 9 penalty points we have between us. ( They advertise in PP ).

Wait till the car hits 20 years old. I'm 44 with a theft recently but AON quoted me just over £260 fully comp unlimited mileage.........including my BMwW M3 which is only 15 years old. Fantastic value for my money, great service when I changed the M3 recently as well.

Had A phone call conversation with my original insurers as long as I sent details of the quote from L V thay would guarantee too price match , so sent them a screen print of said quote which thay excepted
I`am now fully insured again for another year well done Adrian Flux[:D]

I've just given Carole Nash a call for a quote on a 1988 Carrera (I'm 35, no claims or points and wife to drive, garaged, under 5000 miles, third car, no track use) and the guy was too embarassed to tell me the quote, except that it was over £1000. He explained that as of last week, the underwiters they use now only older cover classic cars. Classicline quoted £329.

Update:

Carole Nash just called me back. They did some phoning around and are now quoting £267 with breakdown cover and a £500 excess.

Looks like I'm going to have some fun then in Jan...I've been with C Nashe for last 4 years, 4000 miles, track day cover and euro breakdown insurance....my premium has never been more than £280, with an excess of £250.00....lets wait and see
