I went out today to grease the back of my rear brake pads and while jackin up the car the jack become nigh on impossible to turn. It turns out that the thread on the large bolt part has just disintergrated. [:(]

Is this a common problem? I would have expected a jack to be pretty tough!

Going to have to source a new one. []

Never heard of it, but I don't use mine much as I treated myself to one of these:

The Porsche ones come up fairly regularly on eBay though so I'm sure you'll find one easily.

I've got one of those as well - watch out for the bolts working loose! Mine also decided to leak all its fluid while we were in Germany - repaired under warranty, so I hope it lasts.

We got one of those too, it works really really well. I also have another jack but its mega heavy so I bought one of those ali ones and my brother has another 2 trolley jacks. After a while you just seem to start to collect them [:D]
