Hi Guys

To follow on from this previous thread...Subject 'Hi'...
.....Finally, Guys - Me and Patrick had the conversation lastnight regarding the passing of fello 'Porsche Owners' on the road...Patrick has already been waved at in 'Betsy' (less than 24hrs of ownership!!!) however people won't even look at me in mine let alone wave?! [

] I have always been MASSIVELY into Porsche's however I have now decided and am merely pre-warning you all - IF I SEE YOU OUT AND ABOUT ON THE ROAD - IM GONNA FLASH & WAVE! Ignore me if you must but im going to make myself look like a Freak even if you choose to ignore me! [

I'm PROUD to be a Porsche Owner...I've worked BLINKING hard to get it and now......I am officially going to be the 'Big Smile', 'Wavy Hand', 'Flashing Lights' instigator! You can either...

1) Join me and 'Big Smile', 'Wavy Hand', 'Flashing Lights' me back...[

2) Just give me a 'Big Smile' and 'Wavy Hand'...(this may suffice)
3) Ignore me...at which I may have no alternative then to do an even BIGGER 'Big Smile', 'Wavy Hand', 'Flashing Lights' the next time I see you?!

I will always respond to a quick flash..( oooh eeerr missus! ) ...but I rarely flash 996s. This is not any sort of prejudice, just that in the past so few have responded....perhaps fewer 'enthusiasts' drive the newer cars?? Glad to see that there is one of you out there!

I always wave at all Porsches, with the exception of Cayennes - I used to wave at them too but gave up, as I NEVER got a response. I guess I only get waved back at about 1 time in 5, mainly by 996 and older cars but I still do it. S*d all the snobs. I never flash, for fear of someone taking it as a signal that they can pull out in front of me. I'll keep an eye open for you Clare - you've put this vision in my mind of a demented woman with a huge grin frantically waving and flashing! [

I have been a Porsche Driver in Reading area for years .. Long time ago 944 ... Since lauch a Boxster (whats that 5 or 6 yearsmin ???) .. add to that for last 18+ months a Cayenne as well

We flash EVERY Porsche we see from both cars, our side is no rules no snobbery ... average response .. approx 1% I'd say .............. across any model..

so please dont get with the I dont wave/flash Model XYZ......Just Say Hello to every one ..

Sorry Graeme, I worded my reply rather badly. The problem is that a lot of Porsche drivers simply don't get the wave thing. I give the Porsche wave as a friendly gesture, a sign of camaraderie amongst enthusiasts of the Porsche marque. Sadly, the vast majority of newer model Porsches (and I include 987, 997, and Cayennes in this) just don't know why they are being waved at. Anyone on this forum couldn't possibly fall into this catagory, simply by virtue of the fact that they are here. I apologise if I offended anyone.

] REPHRASE!!! I wave and flash when I see another Porsche but have felt a bit let down by all those who ignore me. Sadly it's a high percentage and it does seem to be newer cars that don't respond, but I'm hanging in there.

Apologies to anyone I miss - it does happen but like every responsible driver I'm keeping a close eye on my speedo and looking out for speed cameras so I probably don't see most other traffic on the roads these days [
