Hey all, i'm assuming some of you may know the car but maybe the member hardly posted.
I did run a search on the reg but nothing came up.
Here is my 1984 944 2.5 LUX. She's been laid up for a number of years, i'm currently throwing money at it, so it'll run nicely again.

Welcome to the forum and to the entertaining world of 944 ownership.

Hi Mike and welcome. You say it's an '84 Lux(series one), but it's got an S.2/Turbo front end?

I think the front is an after market one as the fog/drive lamps look like individual units. Also the wheels wouldn't fit an S2 or Turbo and the screen isn't flush. All indicative of an early non Turbo.

Hi guys and thanks for the warm welcome.
You're indeed right. Back in 1997 she had a bump on the front. For whatever reason she had a different front end blended and painted to the front.
I'm sure the car didn't come with these wheels, spacers were purchased if i'm reading the receipts correctly.

I'm hoping the old girl isn't going to become a bottomless money pit because she drives very nicely on the road and looks great. I'll make a post related to the technical stuff later.

Welcome to Pork transaxles..

Any classic car aged 30+years young could be a money pit, get the whole thing (Mechanical / suspension / body / Brakes etc..) checked out before you start, otherwise you might be spending more than you want to.

It does depend on how good you want it, some people buy a car that's ok and then spend more on restoration than
the original purchase price if not multiple times.

Those Cookie Cutter Wheels would of been on the early 94's , without spacers. Maybe a previous owner has put them on for aesthetics ?
