It will do the job but where do you keep it? this is what you should have. £68 + vat from http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/wheel_tyre_tools_porsche.html#a5172

either look ok to me but why not just go to halfords and get a scissor jack for 20 quid? If its for emergency use only ie kept in the front compartment.

The one idc1873 I think is for the pre 964 911 where the bar slips into the jacking point so not really suitable for the 964.

The ones you found do look like my original jack so if your looking for a genuine then they would be ok.

For saftey your better off with a trolley jack and an axel stand.

I thought the same about the pedestal jack, thanks for your help.

Of course you are right about the trolley jack, but then I'd have no room for my tent on the way down to Le Mans!
