jacking up my car

Although I was used to woring n my old SC I have not had to do anything to my 996 since acquiring it, but I woud now like to change the oil and filter.

Assuming no one advises against doing that using axle stands, can anyone recommend the positioning of the jack and stands?

I have a low entry/high lift jack of course; and on the SC I could just jack the car under the engine, but I doubt that will be a good idea with the 996 engine!

All really easy to get to without a jack or lift, i just did mine in the yard on the ground.

Ive done mine on the ground before too, In fact lifting it for stands I don't think makes that much difference unless you want to remove the silencers to do plugs as well.

I think mine is lowered and it has an aero kit so clearance would be a problem.

I'd be interested to know the standard ride height - can anyone tell me? I suspect the car is as supplied new to the previous owner so if I am right it was an option?
