We're continuing to arrive outside the front of these shops and the VW seems to be going down very well. It's had a Porsche 2.6 twin-carburettor engine put in and makes a hell of a lot of noise, so much so that it makes doing phone interviews while driving impossible. Fortunately there's a back-up car- modern and quieter, so there'll have to be more chopping and changing of vehicles I think.

I would not rely on what Jamie tells the press or what they print. Remember Jamie did not even know how to fill the oil and filled the breather box instead []

I have a 1957 Samba (one with all the windows) with a 2.4 Type 4 or if I am feeling posh, a 914 or 912 engine []
Mine has been fettled, and recently beat a MK1 Golf GTi downt he 1/4 mile at Santa Pod, complete with camping interior and bed. I have footage if anyone wants a laugh.
I believe Jamie's is a 6 cylinder engine, never seen it myself though.
Back to 996, I am picking a 2001 C4 from David Newton! Saw it in Trading Post and let me tell you it is absolutely mint, not to expensive considering and David is an absolute gent. I am picking it up tonight, I am like a kid in a toy shop at Christmas!
