ATTENTION, ATTENTION !! - JANUARY CLUB NIGHT CANCELLED
Given the continuing extreme weather conditions, including the further snowfall forecast for south Manchester on Wednesday 13 January, and its likely effect on attendance, I have cancelled the R5 Club Night scheduled for that evening.

The first R5 meeting of 2010 will thus take place on February 10, at The Deanwater Hotel, and comprise our traditional "Regulars Rewards" draw, etc, as noted below.

Member News Welcome to new members Jason Brown (Cheadle Hulme, 996 C4), Jack Gibbons (Bolton, Boxster S), Susan Lebreton-Towell (Tarporley), Richard Wright (Greenfield, Cayman S), and Philip Moss & Val Taylor (Rainow). Your fellow R5 members and I look forward to meeting you at a Club Night or at one of our other events. If we do not see you earlier, please make a special effort to attend our New Members Evening in July.

Charity Raffle Winners The winners of the R5 2009 Charity Raffle were: First prize - 24 hours use of a current model Porsche: Matt Thompson Second prize - Porsche Design Selection Motorsport Bear: Glen Partington Third prize - Porsche Design Selection Desk Diary: Phil Robinson

Porsche Post Back-Numbers R5 member Mike Ratcliffe is looking for a good home for five years' Porsche Post back-numbers. Would any Club member who would like to become their new keeper please let me know, either by e-mail or telephone, and I will put you in touch with Mike.

**Correction** Please note that the final sentence under the heading "Club Night Start Time" in my report in January's Porsche Post should have read "Ordinarily the night's formal business will then be finished by 10pm (not 11pm - as inadvertently amended by the Porsche Post editorial team), or thereabouts, thus enabling members whose working day starts early to participate in the full proceedings."

Regional Budget Members will no doubt have noted from the several references in the January edition of PP that, as a result of the belt-tightening instigated by Commercial Director Andrew Kenyon and his fellow Board Members, the Club's finances are back in the black. One outcome of this is a welcome increase, to £2.00 per member, in the financial allocation to each Region. For many Regions this will mean an increase to their 2010 budget of 33%; but not R5, since our relatively high membership means our budget remains capped at £1000.00. That said, if we can present a really good case for specific supplementary funding - for instance, to help establish a new Regional Event (about which more in due course) - it will be considered.

Regional Concours There was support at the 2009 Planning Workshop for the resurrection of a formal R5 Regional Concours, to be run in accordance with Club rules. PC Wilmslow is also keen to host such an event, but it is impractical to make arrangements for it without being confident of sufficient entries. Accordingly, would concours enthusiasts from both R5 and neighbouring Regions who would support this initiative please let me know, either by e-mail or telephone. Subject to confirmation of sufficient support, the event will be organised for a Sunday during the notional summer months - avoiding any clash with the established concours events held by R7, R8 and R18 - and entry forms will be distributed a month prior to the chosen date.

Forthcoming Events January 13 Club Night Cancelled - see above
