R7 has organised an open day at the JCT 600 Body clinic in Bradford (320 Sticker Lane, Bradford, BD4 8RJ), this Saturday 16th July, R8 members are welcome to join us. The day will kick off from 10.00 and go on until about 2.00pm or when we have finished and will include a buffet lunch.

The day is going to be a very much hands on day as with previous visits, but will inlude some different aspects that we haven't seen before. Andrew Harrison, the centre manager, has a classic concours quality Ford Escort RS2000 which will hopefully be on display and a number of his staff are complete Porsche nuts. Some of the new things that we can expect to see are:

  • Wheel Refurbishment - in real time a complete wheel from start to finish.
  • Plastic Welding - got a hole, or bit missing see replacement sections welded in like new.
  • Dent removal - a dent removal expert will be demonstrating the application/removal of dents.
  • 993 restoration - removeal of wings, scuttle panels, sills, bumper repairs.
  • Body preparation
  • Painting
  • Welding
  • Quotations
  • Usual body shop process.

This promises to be a day with new things to learn and have a go at, so if you are interested then please sign up on the R7 thread link here or drop me an email as we need numbers for catering purposes.
