JMG Gear selector/lever choice

I'm thinking about going for the JMG road short shifter but i've also seen a few more products they sell which i'm not sure i will need or should go for, the gearstick is very sloppy, struggle to find reverse and second is crunching in when everything is cold (run the car for 10-15 mins and it's fine so maybe syncros as well as selector causing this..

should i go for - http://www.jmgshop.com/road-shift---9xx-quickshift-for-944---medium-short-shift-335-p.asp

with this.... - http://www.jmgshop.com/front-shift-v2---9xx-improved-gear-lever-for-924-944--968-263-p.asp

I'm also not sure if the 'FRONT LEVER BALL CUP BUSH (FOR BOTTOM OF GEAR LEVER) - £2.95' that they sell will come with the lever or not, i think i may as well go for it anyway and keep it as a spare if i don't get one with the lever

Phone Jon Mitchel and tell him what you want to do with the car i.e. track or road work. He will then tell you what the best solution is and what to buy.

The bush is what the ball of the gear lever locates into. IIRC they are a little cheaper than Porsche albeit not much :).

I have had the JMG race short shifter kit and the front gear lever to my race 924S and I am very impressed so far. Good quality and well made and has transformed the gear shift quality. Recommended and I don't the kit is so short that it could not be used on a road car comfortably.

Just fitted these two

It has transformed the gear changing experience, worth every penny. Go for it!!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I fitted the only944 parts (front shifter, short shifter and brace bar) and it is a revelation.

The garage that look after my car say it's the best 944 gearshift they've ever come across and two other people locally with 944s have gone on to order the parts after trying mine.

On the other hand, Jon does frequent the forum and supports the 944 community in the UK - this alone made me seriously consider the JMG parts. However, unfortunately once you look at all the available solutions, the JMG part seems to be somewhat expensive for what it actually is.

I have also fitted the 'Short Shifter' from Only 944, replaces the stock linkage on top of the gear box. Yes transforms the throw, no longer punching the stereo with my hairy knuckles, speeds up the down change before chucking into bends - awesome

I'm going to treat my car to one of these, if I manage to weld it back together and it doesn't disgrace itself at the MOT!

Iv got 9xx shortest one got it new and unused. It's fine much shorter 5th is where 3rd is felt even better after I changed the front as well. Did require a lot more muscle at first, I like it cause I can see my apexi now in the cubby hole

Which did you go for T3rra? Was it the JMG or the only944? or is there now a 3rd choice i have to consider... lol

9xx jmg. I was really quite worried it was going to make it worse. Where u based maybe u can try someone else car?
