PCGB Region 13 Hereford, Worcester & Shropshire
Region 13 Report for July 2012
After a false start, we enjoyed a preliminary talk by Manuel Quieroz, about how he got into a round the world flight in his special aeroplane. Alarming to hear that so much of it was across wide oceans. The Pacific being his longest flight of I believe, sixteen hours.
Unfortunately we were not able to project pictures because an uninitiated RO, thought a "˜power point' was a 13 amp, socket outlet ! Nevertheless, all agreed that it had whetted their appetites for the full talk that we have arranged for next March. Not to be missed. Once again, we welcomed Fay and George who are, AMOC, Area Reps (R O's) for our Region and beyond.
Our sincere thanks to Manuel.
At this time of the year, I am now thinking about next year. There will not be a meeting in December as there are so many other commitments at that time of the year.
January, we shall be at the Chateau. I don't usually book anything because of the weather risk, but we do hope to see you to toast in the New Year. February, I will book our annual skittles and meal night which always seems to go down well, with stomachs free of the Christmas binge.
March, will be Manuel. I am looking into a visit to Paul Howells down at Wyedean. We have not been for a couple of years and he tells me they have some interesting cars. Will have to be out of the racing season though. We didn't go canoeing this year either.
There is a possibility of a weekday visit to the Tramway Museum at Crich, Curborough in May and what we missed this year, a Gliding visit. I have also thought about a visit to the Motorcycle museum by the NEC. Your other ideas and wishes are "˜at my command'
FORTHCOMING EVENTS.
Meetings now at Chateau Impney unless stated otherwise.
30th October Continental Tyres.
30th November Tuesday, A reminder of the sun. Andy Nevitt is planning to give us a
Pictorial talk on the Grand Canyon and Colorado River
December No meeting, but enjoy Christmas.
John.................................Printed on R13 Forum as well.
