[FONT=calibri"]As a region we will be going but as there are so many different departure times and routs of crossing the channel, along with the different accommodation and hospitality options we are leaving it to the individuals to book all that themselves.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
[FONT=calibri"]We will be updating this thread with information as we get it [FONT=verdana, geneva"]
[FONT=calibri"]if you want to tell us what your plans are or ask what others are doing then please do so below and we can get a list together[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Le Mans Classic 2016 Porsche Club France ticket options

All the tickets are stated to be available online from
http://www.porscheclub.fr/lemansclassic/en/ticket-office

[FONT=calibri"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=calibri"]Nick was looking at Porsche France website last night and found some changes to their ticket offers! [FONT=verdana, geneva"]
[FONT=calibri"]He e-mailed the director and he explained that they were worried that there would be too many people going to the Porsche Experience Centre and too many cars - hence the changes.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
[FONT=calibri"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=calibri"]So this is another marathon translation from Nick:-[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

Note: I have translated the following from French for which I can take no responsibility for inaccuracies. However, I have done my best. Where I think it helpful I have made comments in ‘italics’.

Introduction

The following tickets are offered by the Federation of Porsche Clubs France for which the general admission fee is for the whole weekend.

A dress code is in force to enter the paddock and in the spaces of the restaurant Porsche Experience Center.

Each person on board a Porsche car with a Porsche parking space, must have a ticket.

Only Porsche brand cars are allowed on the parking Porsche Club (Orange brand parking) in the heart of the Bugatti circuit. A different car (green) is available to you if you come with a car of another brand.

Porsche parking is limited, the sale of all tickets will close when the capacities of hospitality provided by the Federation of Porsche Clubs is achieved. (so get in quick + see below for exceptions)

Track laps are subject to the authority of the ACO Race Direction, and have a specific time slot on track: in order to ensure the best possible management, holders of lap tickets must be present at the allocated time, otherwise their access to the track will be refused without postponement or possible refund.

The access ticket (parking for your cars, and access accreditation badges for individuals) will be shipped by secure post (registered letter) during the second half of June 2016, to the address you fill in when ordering. Participation in shipping costs is requested. (I think this will be an extra €10)

—————-

After final confirmation of your registration by the Organising Committee that controls the records of orders and payment, a summary email will be sent as an acknowledgment.

Tickets can only be confirmed after payment has been validated.

About three weeks before the event your access tickets (general admission and reserved parking passes, badges and any vouchers you ordered) will be mailed to you by registered mail to the address you provided when ordering. These tickets will be unique and non-transferable. You will be able to use them to access the Bugatti circuit and the parking upon arrival.

Purchased packages including any additional benefits (lunches, dinners, bar tickets etc) will be available at the ‘Porsche Welcome Clubs’ area located on the ground floor of the Porsche Experience Center on presentation of your voucher.

Important :

When you present your voucher at the Porsche Welcome area it must be accompanied by a formal form of identification (for us a passport would be good + dont forget your Porsche club GB membership card)

A valid driving licence for all drivers wishing to drive the car during the two-day event at sessions of laps or parades will be required (also bring with you the documents provided to you by Porsche in your ticket pack). A valid car insurance certificate covering the vehicle (and drivers) including a minimum of 3rd party cover for any incidents whilst in the precincts of the Le Mans circuit must be available.

Dress Code.
The dress code for the paddock and the Porsche Experience Center for lunches and dinners is advised to be; smart casual, business attire or elegant sport (no tong, marcel, shorts and even less of "topless”!) - Thats an exact translation!!! (tong = flip flops, marcel = not a clue, even less of "topless” = no top!) suggest you refer to fig above for DRESS CODE produced by the organiser PETER AUTO.

I made a slight mistake with the translation of pack 2 - it should read 10 drinks not 20 - my apologies.

Nick,
I think one mistake in all of that was pretty good, I have changed it for you now.
Thanks for your work so far with this mate we really appreciate it.

What do we all think then,
Even if you are not intending to go, tell us what your route would be and your preferred accommodation.

If you are going, maybe arranged with someone else, let us know here and we can get a list going

Just had an update from Porsche France - there is a slight delay with their ticket office - now scheduled to open on the 8th Jan NOT the 4th as originally stated.

le mans dress
Just had another update so I have replaced the original post with the new list of packages.
It also sounds like they will be strict on the Dress code

The website is now up and running
We have booked for the full hospitality and Porsche parking
If you are thinking of the hospitality package it would be a good idea to get in quick as demand is likely to be high.
we still need to book some form of accommodation and the ferry. We will probably take a late Thursday/ early Friday crossing from Dover with a drive to Le mans

Just to remind members that Lycian Events will be operating our Classic on the Curves Camp site in 2016, bookings are open and provides trackside camping to our high standards previously offered at the 24 Hours. We have already one region confirmed and many members already booked, you can be all linked together if this is what is required.

We also have our unique minibus service operating on a half hour service, drop off points around the circuit. Although our packages include General Entrance and Paddock Passes and can provide Grandstand seats some at lower than advertised prices, if you are booking track laps or hospitality and Porsche parking through the recommended route of Porsche Club France then these can be excluded from the package.

Give us a call and avoid the public sites and protect your pride an Joy and enjoy a three course meal with a fantastic soundtrack.

Just booked up with Porsche Club France for their 'all inclusive' pack which includes unlimited use of the Porsche Experience centre which is apparently based trackside by Porsche Curves so should be good. I am also looking forward to meeting with other Porsche club members coming from all over the world. Apparently the allocated secure parking area inside the circuit is limited to 1000 cars! There is also the opportunity to participate in a drive around the track and free entry to a concours competition (won't win that though!).
However, to take advantage of this you do have to book the minimum entrance ticket package at €100 through Porsche Club France.
I have already booked onsite camping with the Le Mans ticket office which cost me €100 for a 35 sq metre plot so I can't take advantage of any other camping facilities perhaps offered by Lycian.

This just started as a R16 event but I'm sure we will welcome meeting any other regional members - so please whoever you have booked with please let us know you're attending and we could all meet up somewhere.

Lets Start a List! [:)]

As previously mentioned we can arrange camping without the tickets so any member can take advantage of the excellent facilities organised in the Porsche experience centre, the tickets are limited for Porsche Parking but as a matter of clarification the Porsche experience centre is situated at the northern end of Maison Blanche campsite not trackside on the Porsche Curves, you can see the exit to the Porsche Curves from the public viewing banks on Maison Blanche and from the roof terrace of the Porsche Experience Centre. Also Track laps are at additional cost and restricted to either the " Pre 66" list or what they call the "Happy Few " fortunately Porsche includes all models up to the 997 are included on the "Happy Few" list, so not really an issue except for those who have a 991.We don't book these directly as most members want to go out with other Porsches and this way of booking gives the best opportunity for all members to experience the circuit.

If members want to meet together then I would be only too pleased to make available the Marquee on our site the bar area is trackside on the Porsche Curves and within 50 metres there is fantastic public viewing bank allowing you to view the whole of the Porsche Curves at a height which is above the FIA fencing so that fantastic photos can be taken, food and drink can then be made available in Café Virage. We will also have members from Porsche Club Holland and Denmark on our site as we are the preferred travel partner for both of these Clubs. We are more than pleased to assist any member with information even if they are not using our facilities.

With regard to the dress code although stipulated in my experience it is not policed that tightly, but as we all know PCGB members are always well dressed.

Members should also be mindful that any camping pitch booked through the ACO website is a public site and therefore uses communal showers and toilets, if you are able to secure a pitch on Maison Blanche then these tend to be of a higher quality although cleaning can be an issue later in the weekend. As Porsche Club members we are always prepared to share our experiences and assist in choosing the right site for your purposes and can also advise on off site options including hotels and Chateaux's. Our advice is free.

Nick if you want to contact me and are arranging a get together and want to use our facilities then I will make any arrangements.

Wherever you book it is fantastic event and you will have a fantastic time and not be disappointed.

Thanks Stephen,
Some of our members have gone with your company and others like myself have chosen to take advantage of what Porsche Club France have to offer.
We have discussed the pros and cons of both at several of our meetings during 2015.

Thanks for pointing out what you can offer but I think that's enough advertising of your company on the forum.
There are rules against this and as you state at the bottom of your reply's "If its not right do not do it"

Well the tickets have arrived from Porsche Club France and we are getting excited about our first visit to Classic Le Mans.
We are starting our trip this Saturday, visiting family and friends on the way.
We will be taking notes along some of the journey as it will be useful for organising a trip next year to the event named Grand Prix L'age D'or hosted at Circuit de Dijon Prenois (the oldest in France).
Keep an eye out for this as we will start the ball rolling when we get back.

We would just like to thank Nick Paul for all his efforts with the Porsche Club France web site, tickets and hospitality for the Classic Le Mans

Thanks Stuart - My pleasure

Looking forward to seeing you all there - Just a couple of points:
Avoid speeding - the French Police will be out in force - and will impose on the spot fines in Euros worst case 1500 - only cash accepted
130 kph (80 mph) on motorways (dry conditions)
110 kph (68 mph) on motorways (wet conditions)

90 kph (56 mph) on normal roads (but watch out for other limits)
50 kph (30 mph) in towns / villages (again watch out for lower limits as well)

With the current volatility of the £ it's difficult to predict exchange rates so I advise to bring Euros with you rather than £'s
Perhaps understandable, there maybe some strong feelings in France and Europe as well regarding the BritExit (many are very sympathetic and sad) - Just be mindful of this and that Le Mans is a European event; we are also representing the PCGB as well.

Above all I hope you all have a great time - see you there
