Our open night on the 29th July was a great success, with well over 50 cars filling the car park at The Whittington.

A large turn out of Porsche was complimented by a host of classic Mini's, the local club holding their show & shine event to coincide with our open evening. Steve also brought along his beautifully prepared Triumph TR6, and other classics included an MGB GT, a Reliant Scimitar GTE and of course several Porsche. Amongst the more modern cars were Jaguars, an M series BMW, and two Ferraris, a 430 and a 458, both in traditional Rosso Corsa red paint.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Pat brought his sporting trials car, on a trailer as it isn't road legal. Powered by a bored out Triumph engine running on LPG, for maximum low down torque, it is designed to climb muddy grass hills in competitions where how far you can get up the hill is more important than how fast you can do it!

Although the weather was cloudy, it stayed warm enough for drivers and passengers, as well as curious customers from the pub, to stay outside and chat until the light faded.

John,

There's some issue with your forum profile, with you appearing as an anonymous poster, with no other details?

Can you let me know your user name, real name, email address or something so I can look in to correcting it?

There are lots of forum functions closed to your current status, so it's not ideal. [:)]

Oops, somehow logged in as guest when writing the report above, here are some photos from the open evening:

Hi Paul,

I'm glad somebody noticed.

My usual user name disappeared somewhere and I have been trying to rationalise it since.

At present, it is :- John Lord... OK plain enough.

But !!! followed by :- DBVFBWDIZZT !!!

Doh ! Can't remember that and as it logs up "Guest". Well !

Perhaps you could clarify it for me....Thanks.

Regards.John
