So please do your best to come along and meet some of your fellow R5 members and find out more about what the Club has to offer.

Next R5 Event

The next R5 event is our annual New Members Night at our regular Club Night venue, The Deanwater Hotel, starting at 2000. (See also "Forthcoming Events" below.)

Porsches at Arley Hall - Update No.2

Much has happened in the month since my first Update. The then preliminary layout for the event arena area has been developed, and then expanded to accommodate both a potentially greater number of trade stands than we first envisaged and a bigger "60 years of Porsches" display. In addition we have had to make room for a few larger trade stands for Porsche independents wishing to exhibit several cars, and a special "Help the Heroes" stand manned by the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment (The Cheshires), which will include a climbing wall and assault course. An unexpectedly high, but welcome, number of non-car traders have expressed interest in the event, and if just half of them commit to attending there will be a good range of products on offer on the day. We have also now invited car and biker Guest Clubs, which will be the Morgan Sports Car Club and the Harley Davidson Riders Club of Great Britain respectively.

Any member who runs a business and would like to have a trade stall should contact me (preferably by e-mail) ASAP.

The plan for the "60 years of Porsches" display is to include at least one example of most (anyone got a 959 they would like to bring along?) of the main stream road going models produced by Porsche, and a list of those we are aiming to include will be attached to my August Newsletter. In the mean time, a schedule of the tasks for which we need volunteer helpers is attached to this Newsletter, and I look forward to hearing (preferably by e-mail) from members who are willing to help with the running of the event.

Further information on the event will appear in a further Newsdesk announcement in the August edition of Porsche Post, including how to get to Arley Hall, the event start & finish times and entry charges, and how to obtain advance-purchase tickets (and a chance to win a free Porsche Annual Inspection) and enter the Concours. And future Updates will keep you informed of any new developments.
