PCGB. Region 9. West Midlands

Our Meetings are on the FIRST TUESDAY of the Month, NOT as advertised in the Porschephile.

May Day at The Bear, turned out, "˜all dancing around the Maypole', with 32 Porsches and over 40 Members present. We all gathered for a very complete and interesting presentation by Tom and Dominic from Meguiars, telling us about their polishes, preparations and finishing products.

Those who missed out on the sample packs on the night, should, by now, have received one, kindly sent to me by Meguiars. I must say, that the more Adrian and I use these products, the more we come to admire them. Nevertheless, I am still using Swissol, (now Swissvax) wax on my car and can highly recommend other products of theirs.

There were so many lines of Porsches, that it was a bit bewildering as to where to take the pictures. Hopefully, this is portent for the summer. Keep it up Chaps.

Many Members, shot Clays and also visited Shelsley Walsh and the Isle of Man this month, so I have combined this in a separate article, elsewhere in PP by agreement with the Editor.

Having been to Sutton Coldfield OPC in June, we shall look forward to your company at The Bear Inn, Berkswell, on Tuesday the 3rd July. This will be a social evening and friendly get together, so we can better integrate new Members into the fold.

Region 13's Treasure Hunt.

Sunday July the 22nd, brings an invitation from Hereford, Worcs and Shrops, Region, to join their always excellent Treasure Hunt in and around their Three Counties. Contact Graemme Burnett for particulars, E mail 944TurboS@blueyonder.co Or telephone 07881 634948, or look at R13 Forum.
This is always a well run event, with a rest in the middle and a good meal to complete. This is now nearly upon us so don't delay.

PCGB Festival at Ragley Hall on Sunday the 9th September. I have been asked to find some volunteers for an hour or so. If you can spare a little time, without spoiling your day, call Louisa at the Club.

CURBOROUGH

The afternoon of Thursday the 9th of August, will see us at Curborough Sprint Track between Lichfield and Burton on Trent. This is situated alongside the old Fradley Airfield, South of Alrewas.

There will be a reasonable limit to the number of cars, to allow sufficient runs, safely, for those who will be participating. Therefore, I cannot emphasise too much, that it will be first come, first served. So, put this in your diary, but book as soon as you can to reserve a space. Call me on 01905 620687 to book. Otherwise, I cannot guarantee that there will be a space if you just turn up on the day. Remember, PCT are sponsoring this Event, so we must put on a good show. There will be a small fee of £15 to run the Track, which will be donated to charity.

CONCOURS

Check PP for invitations to these elsewhere, we are still looking at our own.

Forthcoming Meetings for 2007

From hereon, Meetings will be on the First Tuesday.

Tuesday 3rd July, at The Bear Inn.

Tuesday 2nd October. Peter Cook will be coming to tell us about our Archives and Porsche History. Peter say, that if you have any pictures, films video's etc., which you may consider mundane, let him know. Today's pictures are tomorrow's history as you will see in October. What were you wearing 20 or 30 years ago ?

Sunday 22nd July R 13 Treasure Hunt.

Sunday 5th August We have been invited to a "˜tour around the premises' of Auto Historic Ltd at Leek in Staffordshire. This Company specialises in almost every aspect of repair and maintenance of Classic and Historic cars and motorcycles and from their brochure, this appears to be an interesting tour. I expect there may be some Porsches undergoing treatment for us to see. We shall meet there at 11am, followed by refreshments at a local pub. If you wish, you can then visit the local steam railway. Sounds a good day out to me. Let me know if you are going.

Saturday 18th August - Join R13 at Porscheshop at 2pm for a social and look around their new premises

Sunday 16th September. - R9 Treasure Hunt, starting from OPC Sutton Coldfield.

Sunday 30th September - Clay Pigeon Shoot at Minsterley Ranges.

Pour over your Porsches and polish pristine.
