Our Meetings are on the First Tuesday of the Month. At the Bear Inn, Berkswell .

May started with an increased number at The Bear, so come and join in the gang, there is always much to talk about.

May started with a visit to Shelsley Walsh to view the Porsche Championship leg of the Hill Climbs.

Most of us climbed the hill to watch the fun, talked to some of the drivers and enjoyed the activity in the pits. Unfortunately, the day was marred by the powers that be, renaging on their agreement to let us have our usual parking and show area. So we were split up between the car park and a small show line by the track. Due to their attitude, I shall not go there again.

Curborough

In contrast, this was a fabulous day and one day of summer. We fielded 25 cars, some with two sharing and everyone had a full share of the driving. About two thirds of the entries were from Region 9, with Tom and Kerry Fisher from Region 8 each driving their own 911 and Boxster respectively.

Geoff Faulkner zoomed round in his 928, the only one there. Glenn Hill as usual, blasted round in his GT3 and Andy Taylor from Region 9 with a 964 RS, gave severe competition.

Paul Seagrave gave us demonstration of over running the bottom bend, with a super three-sixty turn on the grass and then calmly carried on around again. Barrie Birch in their 911 2.7, gave Pauline a good run round and was followed by Paul Muir in 996 C2 Cabriolet, with Chris Fellows from R13 in a similar car.

Pam opened up the food wagon for us as last year, Dave Pattison , made the arrangements for the track, brought his 911 as a demonstrator with a 944 supporting. He also looked after the bottom paddock when we extended the course after everyone had got used to the track and discipline required. In all a great day, which we shall repeat next year, Eco-Village allowing !

The gateway onto the track was again strictly controlled by Andrew Kenyon, who also gave the safety talk before hand with me adding a throw them off if they don't behave. The day went well for all concerned.

Manx Tour

The weather was fantastic, with members from all Regions attending. See my separate article on a 924 at the Isle of Man.

Not a lot of enthusiasm for this. Paul Musgrove and a few friends went on the corporate package and will no doubt tell us all in due course.

Do look at the booking arrangements, while there is still time left.
