Will these fit my 993 narrow bodied c4 if they are 17inch wheels?? I don't want 18'

I don't think they'll fit. Standard 17s for a narrow body were 7" wide and ET55 for the front and 9" wide and ET70 for the rear. Those look to be Porsche winter wheels for a widebody 993.

what does that mean?? they 17" wheels.....they come with part numbers they off another narrow bodied 993. im lost

hi yes they are for a narrow body 993 and yes they are 17" rears 99336212602 fronts 99336212400 buy now

These shud match

What does what mean? As I said Porsche sold those as wide body winter wheels. They're 8" wide whereas standard 17s are 9" wide.

The buyer has even updated the listing to indicate they're winter tyres.

The tyres im not interested in as i was going to switch the ones on my current "fake" 17" twist turbo alloys.......

I owe u a beer, that point of "winter wheels" wasnt clearly stated in the ad, ive pulled out the deal...Many tks for pointing this out

Just for the sake of accuracy, early cars had a 70 mm offset at the rear, with '95 on cars having a 55 mm offset. Winter wheels for the rear of narrow bodied cars are 8 X 16 or 8 X 17 both with a 70 offset.

I'm not sure why the OPC would have told you that they would fit a narrow body car David as the offset is clearly wrong, even allowing for the wheel being one inch narrower. They would have projected too far out and at best wouldn't have looked right and at worst would have fouled the wheel arches.

I don't think these wheels were ever intended for a 993 despite the part number. From what I can see the winter spec rear wheel for wide bodied 993's is 8 X 17 with a 40 mm offset. They were maybe intended as a winter wheel for a 928?

Ok my next purchase is in your hands..... For future reference what exactly shud I look for if I want standard 17" carrera cup 2 alloys for my NB 993 in terms of codes to look for tks??

David,
If you don't already have it then well worth downloading the parts catalog - has part numbers, option codes, descriptions and line drawings. Includes text like "for winter use" - although it does not clearly state "this will not fit a NB car"!

Don't remember where I found it - I think it is just on the Porsche AG web site. Is 5.7MB so not easy to email.

You're looking for 7J x 17 wheels with a 55 mm offset at the front and 9J x 17 wheels also with a 55 mm offset at the rear David. The width and offset are marked on genuine Porsche wheels either side of the tyre valve and the part numbers are marked on the rear of one of the spokes.

I'm pretty certain the part numbers are 993 362 124 00 for the fronts and 993 362 128 00 for the rears for Cup 2s but don't quote me on that because although I got the numbers from PET the illustrations are essentially line drawings.

I thought the front offsets were supposed to be 52 and the rears 65 for narrow bodied and 40 for wide bodied 993's. Those wheels are advertised as 55 for the fronts and 70 for the rears. So not really sure if they'd fit.

Regards
Anton

The offsets you've listed are for 18s - the 17s have different offsets as per earlier posts.

So would fit my 993 c4 no probs?

The ones in the link you posted earlier today will physically fit David but the rears will sit 15mm further in from the arch than the 55mm offset would. Doesn't seem much but makes a huge difference and I personally do not like the look of this as the wheels do not seem to fill the arch properly.

I have to say that they seem a bit on the dear side anyway - I would want a newish set of matching tyres on them at that price

I would hold out for 55mm offsets for the rear - have you tried some of the obvious places - Jasmine, Porsch-apart, etc

Hi Clyde tks for reply. Jasmine yes I tried a while back who quoted me a grand for wheels but I hadn't tried the other guys. Will check them out. Tks for the steer on the look of the wheels. The suspension is all new and sits 10mm above rs ride height so the wheels may look hidden I guess. Tks
