Can someone point me in the right direction to get a certificate of authenticity for a 911s I just purchased please. It was originally an Italian car.

Its a 1972 2.4s in black and very nice to IMHO.

Hi Peter, hope you enjoy your car, you could email customer.assistance@porsche.co.uk and they will be able to give you the details about your car from its chassis number and your Club membership number. You say it is an Italian spec car, does it have white indicator lenses or has it been modified to be OK in UK. Italian cars like mine from Bologna also did not have 4 way flashers, they have been added to my car.

Is it currently in the uk and was it black originally?

Interested to know if it's the same car I'm thinking of...

hi Robin,

thanks

Yep, in the country and bk originally

Not the one I was thinking of.

Peter if you email me through here I will send you a PDF of the form you need to complete to get the COA and the best person to email it to at Porsche to get it back [:)]

Nice to see with your two new ones that you have found a place for a classic in your garage. A great car the 2.4S.

Ian.

Not sure if this will have a pic in it or not, but here goes:

my 2.4S is an ex Italian car too [:)]

For the basic COA , I got mine from Porsche UK, Reading. Spoke to someone in their Customer Assistance Centre. I think these days you can get this info FOC being a PCGB member ??

Hi Peter,
You might like to buy this book " 911 & 912 A Restorers Guide to Authenticity" by Dr Brett Johnson, ISBN 0-929758-00-5.
The book will show you all of the visible parts of the car to show what are the correct exterior trim parts, interiors etc etc.
It is generally good apart from the front cover photo which shows painted, instead of chrome headlight bezels.
The manufacturing info from the chassis and engine numbers show they were built before the end of December 1972 .
