Thanks Peter.

Been offered a 991 Rhodium Silver TTS to match too, but these are so common on your Register nowadays! :ROFLMAO:

Clive.

Congrates Clive and Judy. Great looking car. Good choice of wheels too- they're easy to clean![:D]

Well you kept pretty quiet about that when we were in Wales recently. And the spec is....?

I will be very interested to hear your views once you have a chance to get to know it. Our A4 Quattro is up for replacement next year and a Macan must be a contender.

As for the Rhodium TTS, you know it makes sense [;)]

Looks very nice and a Diesel?
I thought you were only a petrol man based on this a few months ago ? "At launch last evening, discovered diesel versions require topping up with pig wee to comply with more stringent emission regulations. You get a "200 miles to go" warning light - then the engine stops. Highly corrosive stuff too apparently. Anyway, can't be doing with all that, so petrol only for me from now on. "

What changed you?

Nothing really other than the diesel was available much sooner and there was a promise from the dealer to get us a petrol and give us our money back if we didn't like it. [:)]
So far Judy loves it, so if she's happy, so am I.

Regards,

Clive.

I think, the additive comes in tablet form.
In fact I think you put 2 tabs in now as I queried it on my last service with Land Rover
One in the fuel the other with the oil .
Brussels don't you luv em .....

It's the same system as in the Audi Q5, a separate smaller filler neck located behind the fuel filler flap.
I buy the AdBlue in bottles which screw onto the filler neck after removing the cap with the wheel brace then push and the bottle empties into the tank which holds approx 23 litres, unfortunately I have no way of telling how much is in the tank until the first warning message to refill within 1500 miles appears, the first time that happened was after 16000 miles. Buying through Audi is expensive as the bottles only come in 1.8L capacity but it's the only way of ensuring a leak free seal whilst filling the tank, the AdBlue is very corrosive so not a good idea to spill it on the paintwork. I suspect the price from an OPC will be similar.

Hi Nick,

As it is diesel, I wasn't at all sure Judy was going to take it since previously, she was adamant it had to be petrol! [8|]

Spec is as follows:-
Rhodium silver met, black leather package, comfort seats with memory and heating, PCM, PDK, 20" Sport Design wheels, Light comfort package, Homelink, privacy glass, 75l tank, PASM, spare wheel, power steering plus, panoramic roof, Porsche crest on front head rests, reverse camera, Bi-Xenon lighting, 3 zone climate control, mobile phone prep.

I'll report back on impressions and essential options a bit later. [;)]

Regards,

Clive,

Clive, it's a nice spec. As you know I've switched my Macan order to a 991 GTS and keeping my Q5 a bit longer but yesterday I went to an Audi Driving Event where I got the opportunity to drive both an SQ5 and R8V10. Neither impressed me, the SQ5 is ok and but only felt a lot faster and quieter than my Q5 Tdi BUT compared to the Macan (I've driven the Petrol S and Turbo) ithe SQ5 could not match the handling, performance and overall package. The SQ5s steering felt vague and on the twisty roads I drove it on the car did not feel as "planted" as the Macan. Taking your spec and compared to an SQ5 both similar priced but the SQ5 loses out in terms of cabin quality by a big margin. As for the R8V10, very quick but again compared to a 991 Turbo S I drove 3 weeks ago it doesn't do it for me. Cabin quality on what was a £130K spec car was in my opinion poor compared to the 911 Turbo S and indeed against my 991 Carrera. Handling was ok but i did not feel as confident as I did in the Turbo S when going for the overtake and planting the accelerator, it did not feel like it was glued to the road whereas the 911 just feels so right.
