Hi all
Just a curious question - I notice some of you have modified (heavily) your turbo cars and have gone to lengths to change the badge to spell Turbot - what does it mean?

I must add, as a new owner of a 944T I have found this forum extremely useful and picking up alot of good information - well done.

I havnt changed my badge!!!

I might once i get it up to 500bhp

Porsche 944Turbo(brown pant edition!!)

No - I don't remember seeing it on yours Slim, it was a red turbo, can't think of who it belonged to now. ...

I have been following your topics with great interest Slim. I am sure when I have sorted the 101 things to do on mine, I will be following yours and others footsteps.
Might even get a 'Turbot' badge when i know what it stands for.
Does the 't' stand for 'Tweaked' or 'Tampered with' [:D]

I await the arrival of the Essex contingent.

C'mon Rick (Eastnder) put Wiz out of his misery [:D]

p.s. you should take a look at the current badge on the back of Ricks car

He's not bitten yet. [:)]

As I understand the Turbot conversion is to 951's what RUF is to 911's. It represents the ultimate in conversions. Take a great car and make it even better. [;)]

More turbot pics here on Ricks web site

Something fishy about that conversion [:D]:ROFLMAO:[:D]

Tony

only a Turbo but I did look at adding an S (decided not too as I would of needed a new Turbo badge as well as an RS badge to make it look right.

this looks like a suitable excuse to sneak in a picture of the rear end of my Turbo S!
(please ignore the rather jaunty angle of the rear wiper, which has packed up, soon to be removed alltogether!)

As this is a frivolous thread [;)] I think it's fair to say that we actively encourage jauntiness from 944 owners [:D]

Tony - thats your cue for a pic of your jaunty Le Mans racing numbers

I know that registration number from somewhere, but I can't think where. Was it sold thru Northway after getting a new head gasket there in June 2001?

I know that registration number from somewhere, but I can't think where
no, it wasnt sold by Northway - I bought it last August from Cridfords. Previous owner had it for 6 years, and at some point registered it as VWU 944 (he wanted £1500 for the reg, which I declined so it has reverted back to the original plate.)
If you are brave enough to venture into Slough [:-] then you may have seen me trundling around there.

Steve

Nope, that's not it - never been to Slough in my life.

Did you buy it from a Titanic lister? Anyone else think JNX rings a bell?

no, didnt buy via titanic. It's a mystery then! I believe the previous owner was a PCGB member so perhaps you saw it at a show somewhere before the private plate was fitted.

Oh well, not to worry. It might come to me but if not I have managed to stop racking my brain trying to think where I know it from...
