Just how perfect does the RS look?

Leave me alone for a while and I'll be alright again!

It's just that I feel compelled to share this with you.

I was travelling from Kent anti-clockwise on the M25 yesterday when a 964RS passed me. You may know the car..Reg no. 911 RS (how cool is that)

I followed it for a fair distance, he naturally in the outside lane and me in the middle just so that I could get the perfect view.

The wheels filled the arches and the car sat low as they do but its only when you follow one on the road sitting at the same level that I think you can appreciate the perfect lines and stance. The car was in a dark mauve and looked like it had been honed from a single block of metal.

The question is, is there anything you would change if you were designing this car from scratch. For me I think its the definitive shape of the 911...spoilerless and pure..

I'm ok now thanks

The car you saw was at Silverstone yesterday along with :-

1 x Midnight Blue RS--Jeff Hathaway
1 x Black RS--Paul Mclean
1 x Maritime Blue RS-- ??

They all looked good but I think an RS looks it's sinister best in a dark colour, especially a metallic one, so Jeff's midnight or the car you saw deffo look aggresive, menacing, threatening but allways look like a Porsche.

Yes a great number plate for an RS! By the way owner also is the owner of 935 Kremer.
I was overtaken a couple of days ago by Allens (uk trucks) rs which looks great on the road Indian red with Antracite wheels. My pick of the 964rs at Le Mans was a white car from Austria. It had Maritime blue, I think Carrera script on the doors, badge on boot lid and number plates, I have some pics but do not know how to download.

Brother Lee, you have been touched, the car is owned by a local Kent Member who is not short of a Porsche or two, and yes RSKiwi would love to see the pictures of the GP White RS in Austria.......

So does anyone have pics of their RS to post on here? Would love to see them.

Regards

I like that alot...I think they look good in dark colours..especially with the gloss black wheels and the big reds...

I've got reds on mine...do you know if they are any different in terms of performance?

Are you at Brands on the friday track day?

lee

Lee sorry for being such an anorak, but the brakes on the picture above, though very Red are not big Reds.

I'd say the most noticeable thing with big Reds are their better resistance to fade on long stints.

Hi Lee sorry about long time to reply but have just had 5 days in hospital. The brakes are standard and given the light weight of the car probably all you need. I will only be at Brands on the Sunday.
What did you think of the difference the Mags made to your car especially the steering?
I had 18" splits on mine but did not like the feel of the car although they looked great!

I've not driven far to be honest but I find the ride harsher believe it or not. I think the cup sports must have less give in the sidewall.

However given this, I think the car feels more positive/less skittish if that makes sense but that could be the extra grip.

Not found any noticable difference in conering at speed but its early days other than sheer grip so its difficult to detect wheel effect against performance of the tyre....But looking forward to the track day on the 27th

I dont like all the stones clattereing around the wheel arches and leading edges. They obviously hold onto the stones longer.

Form over function for me I'm affraid
