Just ordered a new 4s with aerokit

Hi everybody,

This is my first post and I just ordered my very first porsche - a carrera 4s

I confirmed my spec last friday.

However, I am unsure about the aerokit which i optioned. I am concerned about the front spoiler ground clearance.

Is ground clearance a major problem? (obvioulsy i won't be driving over huuuuge speed humps)

Does anyone have this particular aerokit?

I have only seen a couple of pictures of the 4s aerokit has anyone any pictures?

I ordered the 4s because i always wanted a wide body porsche and the turbo is a bit out of my reach. I was also seduced by all the enthusiasm online and all these wonderful club meets. I was going to buy a SL500 but when i walked into the porsche showroom my girlffriend said your not just buying a car, your buying a lifestyle!

That sums it up for me!

Welcome to the club and the new "lifestyle" I am sure you will have few regrets if any and good luck with the dream machine when it finally materialises [8D]

I'm not sure about the grounnd clearance on the bodykil - but I think it looks fantastic!

You are going to love it!

Welcome to the forum.

Being a 'purist' (old fogey), IMO,I don't think the C4S needs any additional body kit. I prefer the cleaner simplified lines. In fact, I think the unadorned narrow bodied cars look perfect.

There are other options that may be more significant to the overall enjoyment and eventual re-sale value:

* Colour combination?
* Sports exhaust? (subtle but gorgeous)
* PCM? (becoming essential on high-end vehicles)
* Heated seats (personal favourite)?

Also, being an old fogey, it does make me cringe when I realise that the 911 has become a 'lifestyle' product.

My spec:

basalt/black interior
pcm
telephone module (no handset)
bose + 6cd
sunroof
sports exhaust
litronic headlight (shouldn't be an option)
chrome entry guards
red seat belts (as picked by the woman)

Having a wing on the car, especially a wide body car is just my personal preference. Unfortunately porsche do not seem to offer a rear wing on the 4s unless i go for the whole aerokit.

I'm having problems grounding the front lip in a few multi storey car parks - but not NCP car parks for some reason. It makes a horrid noise but no damage has been done.

You'll love the C4S, it's just that little bit differnet... until a GT3 or turbo eats you up.

Phil
