Just Placed My Deposit

Just been into my OPC and placed my 2K for a 2005 2.7 Boxster. No idea on lead time but hopefully early next year I'll make a child hood dream come true.

The booklet dropped on the mat this morning & made my mind up instantly.

Spec wise you get air con which can be upgrade to climate for 300'ish quid, 17' alloys, trip computer, stabily management as standard. So reckon I'll add metallic paint, bose, wind deflector, climate & maybe a couple of other bits. Should get more info in the next few weeks.

Also thinking about factory collection, can you tell me what its like?

Well chuffed right now.

You're fairly early in, so I'd hope to see it before spring next year.....you'll love the car when you get it.

Which OPC did you flutter your wads at?

I had a conversation with Reading today about the matter, but with a possible delivery in mid '05

Interestingly, Porsche seem to have uprated the basic package on the 2.7 and S. Those previously buying a 2.7 or 2.5 seem to always go for Air-con, so it's become standard, likewise with wheels and other things.

Although Posty's now been and NOT left me my brochure. (Grumble grumble)[:(]

Really? They haven't just gone for Climate Control as standard?

Fantastic!
Do a search on my name and Factory Collection - that should tell you about it!

Nottingham - Spoke to Sharon very helpful.

She got to play in the new 911 yesterday and said quality wise it's better than the current car and thinks alot of the new bits on that will be shared with the Boxster.

Also led to believe that build slots will alotted by date of placing your letter on intent. Official UK launch is November 27th from memory.

According to my 987 Price List £850.00!!! Seems a very expensive option []

As the 'fountain of all Boxster information', do you have the full list and prices of the options?

Also, are the colour choices the same as 997?

If you just drive home again, maybe.
But do as Claire and I did and have a holiday then it makes it rather more worthwhile:

Flights to Stuttgart for 2
1 night in the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart (4* hotel)
Evening meal
Breakfast
Taxi transfers from arirport to hotel, and hotel to factory
Factory Tour (free anyway, but nice when you are about to drive one of the cars away!)
Fabulous Lunch in the Executive Dining Room
Personal introduction to your car (for as long as you need!) by a very knowledgeable Porsche employee
The opportunity to give the car a coat of wax before you go (yes I did...[:D])
10 days insurance cover (what is it now?)
<take holiday here>
Eurotunnel Priority passage back to UK

A holiday of a lifetime in your new Porsche (up to you what you do with it!)

Cost at the time I did it = £600
Would I pay £850 for it? You bet.

Or 2 hours at your local dealership? You choose what is more important to you.[;)]

Mark were you in sales mode when you typed that reply up :ROFLMAO: You had me completely hooked right up to the waxing point when I realised there was no mention of perfect weather all the way back home [8D] At least when collecting from OPC this can be organised even if delivery has to be delayed a few days

I just typed a huge reply, then hit submit, and my connection had dropped - lost the lot[]

It rained on the second day.

We did so much stuff - be creative, you are in a fantastic sporstcar, have a holiday, it will be so much more than picking up from your dealer.
