Just says, forgive me!

Today opened drizzly wet, of course it would, cleaned my 987.2 yesterday.
Today was a long awaited trip to Portmerian in north Wales, about 120 miles by A roads from here.

I've been gagging to get OUT in this car for ages, away from local 20 mile round trips, somewhere to enjoy the car.
Open the throttle body (until the passenger glares at me) and settle down to simple cruising along away from the workers all bustling around, barging into this lane then another, rush rush rush, so pleased to be retired.
On this trip I would run the rear tyres out, fresh boots on the rear tomorrow, plan was to have coffee and a bun in Portmerian itself, so 7.30am start, 10.30am arrval!

The car ran so sweet, the sun really came out, 20.5 deg C and barely car there at 10.30. 35.4 mpg (is the computer right on these cars?) E10 fuel as ever and that is £1.91 / litre in Wales!

Down through the scenic village, down to a deserted beach and a stroll along the soft sand, stroll back to the village the long way, birdsong and smiling people everywhere. But people everywhere!

Simple shared lunch, a double scoop of Rum n Raisin Gellato to myself and a Snowdonia based route back past Loton Park hill climb and join the A6 and motorway to Telford with those very same rush rush rush pilots from this morning.

Go to say, what a car, but you all know this fact, it is what they were designed for.
Tipped into 71,000 miles.

No time for pics today, too busy driving it, but one from the archive:

My wife and I came home yesterday from a tour of Wales in our 718 GTS 4.0.

We can recommend Caernarfon and Tenby for overnight stays. Both have everything you would require to enjoy your stay.

The tour took us on laps of Snowdon, Pembrokeshire, Brecon Beacons and also the west coast and the Dragons Spine.

The road are well kept and not too busy, they are very scenic and any slower traffic is easily passed in the porsche. A word of warning though is to not speed as the roads are well policed. That said, with the scenery and the type of roads, plenty of enjoyment can be had within the speed limits.

The car has had a good clean today. A job I hate but I do because I don’t like driving around in a s_ _ _ tip.
