Someone suggested to me that I try putting a K&N Air Filter in the 996 as it would improve performance. I see on EBay that I could get one for about £70. Has anyone used one of these and, if so, can you comment on whether or not it was worthwhile?

Cheers

Ellis

Hi Ellis,
I have a K&N filter fitted to my 996 4S, if there is any performance increase (3 to 5 bhp was suggested) the increase is too small to notice under normal driving conditions.
Regards,

Hi

K&N have a full kit for the 996 not just a filter and not just a 57i induction kit either, we have fitted 1 of these with very good increase in the midrange,K&N guarantee 22BHP or your money back !

Can not say fairer than that.

Mike
details are on our website with some pictures too.

... and don't forget to tell your insurance company of the performance improving modification or they could (quite rightly) refuse to pay out in the case of an accident.
