Had a day off work and decided to polish the compressor wheel and housing before I fit this replacement K26/7 Unit . Do you think there is any point spending a good three hours doing this sort of thing or do I need to seek help !!! I know that performance heads , valves , pistons undergo such treatment , I suppose it does the Turbo unit no harm and improves air flow . All feedback welcome and a contact number for a good shrink !!!

Big thanks to my Dremmel !!

Bl00dy hell! Didn't know you could get results like that with everyday kitchen appliances. What heat setting did you use?

Nice job. Wouldn't mind doing that to mine but it will a cold day in hell before I think about removing and installing the turbo again [:D]

Looks nice and it certainly will help with compressor efficiency. However the gains will be temporary due to the oil that is drawn through the intake from the AOS. If you install an oil catch can at the same time then you will slow down the rate that the compressor wheel gets covered in dirt again.

You could in theory spray water with detergent or something like that (maybe carb cleaner) down the turbo once in a while to try to clean off some of the gunk. Engine washing of get engines improves engine efficiency significantly and they tend to use nothing but warm water. If people feel that expensive spark plugs improves ignition then this will certainly improve turbo efficiency. Ideally you would want to get some spray down the exaust end too to give the turbine a bit of a clean, but the logistics of this is a bit more tricky.

Thanks for all the feedback ! I can not help it , I was bored and dreaded the thought of having to refit the Turbo Unit ! Job from Hell ! So had a play with the Dremmel instead ! I have got some alloy wheel WAX so will apply some onto the compressor wheel to try and stop corrosion from water ! Again more than likely with the heat of the Turbo unit woun't last long . I have in a strange way enjoyed the task and have some good pictures of the end result . Once again thank you all for your more than welcome comments and may I wish you all a Merry Xmas . I have asked santa for a bigger stainless steel Turbo Unit !!!! Best regards J.C
