Hi,

Have spent most of the the day cleaning the car... it was filty from 2 weeks driving and I didn't want to do the usual £5 pol-wash... so got all the gear out and did it myself.

Also found an old bottle of MER... forgot how easy it is to use, but now my arms feel like I've been painting Mr Miagi's fence !

Just thought I'd share my hard work... very proud !

Autosol - car wash, fast glass, alloy wheel cleaner, alloy wheel sealer
MER liquid wax polish
SILVO metal polish wadding (exhaust tips)

Hi Paul. She looks great! Those exaust tips always seem to make the whole job worth while, don't they!? We've had some good weather here in south Wales for the last three days - so I got mine done on Friday. All the best. Adrian.

Is Silvo metal polish wadding the best thing to use for the exhaust tips? They look great in the picture as does the rest of the car.

Also, is the alloy wheel protecter any good? Does it make cleaning them any better, particularly tar spots in the summer?

God my arms ache this morning ! I didn't miss one bit, did everything including all the door/bonet/boot sills, tail pipes, wheels (inside and out)... however, it was a lovely drive into the office this morning, sunshine bouncing off the polished rear spoiler.... [:D]

I was told Silvo WADDING was the best thing to use to clean the tail tips by MILTEK SPORT (the system I had fitted to my Audi S4).

Re the Autosol alloy wheel protector spray, it was the first time I'd used it, so the jury is out if it's any good... to be honest, once clean, I've always just used car wax to polish them... but Halfords had a 3 for two offer... so thought I'd give it a go. It's just a clear super slipery spray... so we'll see...

Well done mighty Master of the car cleaners [:D]. But watch out, jacinabox and daro911 will be after your title...

Incidentally, where can one find Silvio wadding? And do you have to remove anything [such as a residue] or polish the tail pipes. Does it scratch the tail pipes?

I got the Silvo wadding from Sainsburys... in the domestic cleaners/matches/dog food section.

The wadding doesn't scratch the tail pipes, it designed to polish your finest silver wear, so stainless steel is safe.

Thanks

However, I am a bit concerned. Looking carefully at your pictures, it appears that something you used corroded the number plates badly ... [:D] [:D] [:D]

I thought they were a new style number plate designed to avoid the London congestion charge! [:D]
